I've always done light exercise but my New Years resolution for 2013 was to get over my hatred for running and run a 5 K in March. I've started training 5 days a week and my stomach now looks like I'm preggers! Not only that but it's extremely uncomfortable and causing me to loose sleep. I was diagnosed last year with IBS and found much relief with Heather's book, recipes and teas. I don't have any D just awful bloating and pain. I feel like I'm back to square one again. Is there anyway at all to work out and get fit without being miserable? I've got this 5 K in 6 weeks and need help!

I swim one mile each weekday morning. Check the first three links in my signature. They outline an dietary approach that has been clinically tested on large numbers of IBS suffers. It is suitable for managing gas, bloating and pain. Clinically studies show this approach can reduce symptoms 60-80%. Many of us on the board use this approach in conjunction with Heather's EFI diet. Good Luck

Thank you so much for the help. I'll give it a try.
