Magnesium supplement has really helped me

have had IBS-C for 30 years!...managing it has been a daily event. I have had all the discomforts of constipation and tried all the suggestions from doctors, friends and blogs...I cannot believe that after all I have done (fibers, zelnorm, amitiza, exlax, dulcolax, etc., senna (tabs and teas), prune juice, fruits, suppositories, enemas, and more...ANYthing to get it 'out')...a 250 mg. magnesium tablet with a small glass of prune juice every night has done the trick oh and I do use Heather's Tummy Fiber or Benefiber in the a.m and pm still.......I am amazed...no stimulants and I am going every morning...my stomach is flat  yea...the only downside is some gas ...I guess my digestive system doesn't know what is going on after all these years. I am scheduled to see a new gastroenterologist next week but think I can cancel...!

That is great CherE! I, too, use magnesium, however, I have found that adding 1,000 mg of Vit. C helps too as I was having to take more and more magnesium. I take one 500 C with breakfast and one with dinner. I find Natural Calm magnesium drink (I get the one with no sugar, artificial sweetners, or flavor) works the very best. Has a tart flavor like lemon. I drink it warm in the evening like a tea.
