Hi All! I'm new to the Fitness Board!
I exercise every morning for at least an hour. Right now I have a bad bad soar throat, coughing, runny nose, sinus pressure, etc. Do I need to keep exercising even though I'm sick? I love my exercise, but I'm scared I'm making myself worse!

I'm no physician, and I've read/heard conflicting reports, but I've found that if I'm sick with a cold virus I'm better off with a workout as long as that doesn't mean getting really hot a sweaty and then going into freezing weather. You are probably the best judge... Whatever you decide, be sure to get pleanty of liquids.
When I've been ill with IBS symptoms I've found it best not to go on with my cardio workouts. Yoga and stretching are the best solutions for me during these times.
Hope that helps you some.

Thank you so much for your advise. I'm actually feeling a little better so I think I might try some yoga, as you suggested. Yoga is my favorite! Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!

One general rule of thumb I've read in several places is if your symptoms are limited to the neck and above, moderate exercise is OK. If the symptoms are below the neck, then take a break. HTH

If sick I would just do something more easy like walk on treadmill at 3.5 mph for 30mins. that should not hurt you.
