Hello lovely folks, folks I haven't talked to in, what a year? and new folks. I'm feeling the need to have some accountability for my eating, beyond the inside of my head, which never seems to work so well, and this place was what I wanted to come back to. Here's the catch - being mostly stable for a while now, and finding out different eating habits that can work with my IBS, what I'm eating isn't really at all the standard IBS diet, mostly in the lack of obvious SF - it's based around fruits, veggies, and protein. But it's not, like, cheeseburgers and vodka. So what I'm wondering, with this whole novel I'm writing, is if posting my food would be in the spirit of the board, or not good, for the sake of folks still trying to get a handle on all this. Either way I love you all, of course. I just want to do what'll help.

A familiar face! How are you doing? Sounds like your IBS is more in check which must be nice.
Lots of people have posted their diets in the past and many have varied in terms of fitting the EFI diet. If yours is really only different in how much SF you eat, that sounds fine. Heather's guidelines are to find your own IF/SF combo that works. If you eat anything that's considered a trigger, some people have used UFO (unidentified food object) so that people don't see something and think it's IBS safe.
If the boards sound like a good place that you can keep track of your diet then it sounds like a great opportunity to post here. Maybe it'll encourage others to post more too (it's been a little quiet )

Awesome. I do think that, aside from higher fat content, I'm still almost entirely following the IBS guidelines. And, hey, it's working for me. Last attack (which wasn't even too intense) I had was after a huge meal that featured (vegan) cake and sweet potato fries. I mean, duh, right?
But thanks for the welcome. I think, even for a bit, it'd help me to be posting, so I have to see everything and to feel like I have some accountability. Basically, I'm setting a goal for November, to eat as pristinely as I can, and see how much weight I can lose. I'm aiming for 8 lbs, though I know that's a stretch for 30 days. While I know moderate indulgences are allowable for life, one month without won't kill me, and might give me the inspiration I need to keep going, if more slowly. Like, if I want candy, candy will still be there in December, right?
So thanks, it's good to be back, and you should be hearing from me tonight or tomorrow. I'll notate things in terms of IBS. It's really good to be back.
