I have just had it with my chubby body!!! I have been trying too long without results. So what do any of you recommend: weight watchers? pills or natural remedies? other diets? I am always attempting to eat less calories but I never seem to succeed. It is hard to really eliminate all my carby and sugary foods. Also cold food that needs chewing is out now because of my teeth. As much as I'd like to have salads and deli turkey I can't. I just want this weight off fast. The exercise I am doing isn't bringing weight loss yet but it is promised that it will in time. I was exercising too hard and flared up my hip injury and had to cut back, so I do the workouts slower and harder but just 30 minutes and take out the ouchy hip movements. I do 5 workouts per week now a days. I have at least 15 pounds to lose up to 20. Luckily I still fit in almost all my clothes but my butt, thighs and belly are disgusting me!

My usual diet goes like this:
oatmeal or rice for breakfast with soy milk and stevia and usually raisins or other fruit
cereal bar or luna bar and a banana and another fruit for morning snacks (I am very hungry in the morning)
for lunch it depends: usually leftovers or soup or PB&J or sweet potato with S.B.L.
pineapple for second snack (1/4 of one whole) and another banana usually
dinner: some rice usually or another carb like pasta, bread or potato, 1/2 plate of vegetables and the rest protein usually with a sauce, or it might be something like spaghetti and I generally eat a whole plate
couple pieces of chocolate
then later on I have to take my fiber, but instead of just having it in tea and eating nothing I get real snacky and I will have 2 small bowls of cereal most of the time.
Estimated calories is 2000 I suppose.
I try to drink 80 oz of water/tea a day but I suppose it is down to 60.

Please tell me what I should do. Help! summer is coming!

You could try more protein earlier in the day - maybe a hard-boiled egg white as part of breakfast. Have you considered swimming as an exercise? It's supposed to be great for your lower body. And to lose weight walking is supposed to be good.

You could consult a nutritionist and see if she can help design a meal plan for you. Ditto with consulting an exercise specialist, maybe some sessions with a personal trainer. I don't think you can pick the part of your body weight will come from but you can spot tone I guess.

I have to say, though, that it makes me kind of sad to see you being so hard on your body. I'm a little hesitant about giving advice on this kind of thing since I have a serious weight problem - and want to lose weight for health reasons - but I found over the years that the more I hated my body and tried to force it to lose weight the heavier I got. It was pretty much a given that I'd end up about 10 pounds heavier after each diet I went on.

I know it's sort of pie in the sky but I think it would be really great if we could all focus on eating right and exercising to feel healthy and let our body shapes and sizes take care of themselves. Years ago I read a book where the author suggested every woman imagine that a mysterious gas had been released into the air and from that moment none of us could lose weight no matter how hard we tried. We just had to learn to live with the bodies we had. She said most women who try this exercise feel panicky at first but then feel relieved - it frees up all the energy that we women spend hating ourselves and trying to force our bodies to submit to our will.

Thanks for the encouragement. I had previously been ok with my body in that I was muscled and in shape but chubby on top. But lately I feel very fat and out of shape. I have lost some of the headway I had made. I'm just so confused about T Tapp and whether I will actually see results, how much exercise I should do and whether I should take it more easy so my body will respond, and what to eat and how often and how much. I have to eat so often that my stomach seems to have turned into a monster. If I don't eat for 3 hours my gut hurts and so it is used to it and groans when I am not feeding it. Yes I guess I have lost my self confidence in at least being in shape with a few extra pounds to now being pretty white and gross. I am going to start tanning and that definitely will look better. I also got my dry body brush today to help with cellulite. Then again when I am bloated I look so big- even my butt looks bigger! It is just hard when you are always trying to lose weight but you end up gaining instead! I was 126 in summer of 05. Then 135 last winter. Then 139 in December. I got down to 136.5 in January somehow and now I am 141 or so and less defined than before. I hear so many conflicting things that I feel like I have little birdies flying around my head .

Does anyone use protein powder in the morning?

One thing that comes to mind is looking into systemic candida. I had this problem a few years back and again, after a bout of antibiotics, I'm taking a supplement that has been proven to be very helpful--probiotics. One of the symptoms is bloating, so it's worth checking out. I don't know much about IBS yet, but learning, so make sure you compare this to your IBS symptoms. A good webpage is candidasupport.com. I'm looking for some answers myself so I understand. Good luck to you!

Dont get discouraged! I know it is so easy to when you are working so hard and not seeing the results you desire!
2 years ago I buckled down and decided that I was gonna lose weight no matter what! I decided that my exercise of choice would be a treadmill, which I bought, and I still use! If I can watch TV while doing it, I'm in!!
Anyways...a few things that I have learned along the way....
First you say that you suppose you are eating around 2000 calories a day. It is worth writing down EVERYTHING you put in your mouth and what the calorie content is, just to see EXACTLY what you are taking in. MANY of us would be surprised as to how many calories we arent even aware that we are consuming on a daily basis! I have read that if you take your weight and multiply it by 12 that is the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight. If you want to lose 1-2lbs a week you subtract 500 calories from your diet either from just cutting the calorie intake or a combo of cutting the calories and exercise.
For me I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so I cut a ton of calories by just cutting out treats.
Anyways, I have tried to incorporate protein into my diet for every meal, simply because it fills you up and keeps you satisfied. I am stuck on a protein bar in the morning. I found great ones online from revivalsoy.com...chocolate raspberry (low carb) with 20g of protein, the bar is big and I dont even need my mid morning snack anymore! I am loving these!
Also, a killer is any type of dressings, or sauces that you put on things, it is amazing how much fat and calories are packed into these things that can make healthy salads and pastas really treacherous on our diets!
If you love pasta...try dreamfields pasta (in the black box), it is low carb and it tastes JUST LIKE regular pasta! It is a little more expensive, but if you are a pasta lover, it is the best!
Also, we all read food labels, and if you try to eat what the suggested serving is, that will help you control your calorie intake as well. It will also help you decide what foods are worth eating. For example...I wont buy a cereal that the serving size isnt at least 3/4c. Otherwise it isnt worth it to me! I need to see that I can eat something for the calories!! So food labels can be deceptive in that way. You will notice that the labels usually all have the same amount of calories, but the serving sizes are all different!
I also try everything. I will give everything a try at least once! I always substitute ground chicken or turkey for beef, low fat versions of things for the full fat. Unless they taste gross of course!
Hope those few tips help!! Keep up your good work! Being healthy is never a bad thing, even if you arent losing the weight! I am sure that you look fabulous!
Good luck!!!!
