Food: Porridge with melon Spinach quiche with salad, a rice krispie square Chicken stir fry with brown rice and lots of veggies Diet 7up, a slice of toast That's it so far.
Exercise: went to the gym despite getting caught late at work.
I DID: 15 minutes bike (I worked hard) and wait for it...I RAN!!! I have never used the treadmill until tonight. I ran 1.5km (sounds sooo little) in about 11 minutes (then almost collapsed) and warmed down.
I am so proud of myself for running and my food was good too. Yay. Will be quite bold tomorrow as going out for dinner with the girls but will go to the gym again on Friday to make up.

That's awesome. 26 minutes of cardio isn't easy. Congrats!

Thanks Jon. I am doing a fun run (or walk) at the end of May so I really need to work on my cardio and on running, my aim is to do 45 mins cardio so 26 is a bit pathetic, but the running took a lot out of me and my tummy wasn't really sure what to make of it so I am happy that I was able to do it at all! Thanks for the encouragement

Diet: 1 cup white rice(uncooked), 1 cup brown rice(uncooked), 5 Bananas/Strawberries/Soy Milk/Protein Powder, 1 foot long Subway turkey breast/mustard/onions, 64 oz. water, 24 oz. Gatorade, 8 oz. pedialyte.
Result: I had an attack at night and it was right after eating the Subway sandwich so it's probably that but it could be the pedialyte too. I bought 2 subways and the other one doesn't have mustard or onions so I'll probably eat that one today and see what happens. No pedialyte for today. Also, I think I'll try eating the subway in two sittings instead of one.
Exersize: 1 hour walk outside.

Jon, I know onions absolutely kill me, maybe that's it? A footlong is a whole lotta sandwich in one go too, you seem to be on the right track with your changes.

Thanks Tina, how is your exercise regime going this week? You were so good last week with it.
Do you do treadmill running at the gym? My tummy was really crampy and painful this morning, I had to take buscopan it was that bad, and I wonder if it was the running as I know that a lot of people have posted lately about running and IBS issues.

Hi there!
So far my workout week is ok, not like last week though. I didn't go to kickboxing on Sun (recovering from New Hampshire and Boston trip) and the gym is closed this Sunday for Easter so I won't go to it again. Oh well.
So this is what I did:
Mon- nothing, had a bad ibs attack almost all day
Tues- weights (an hour) and cardio (30 mins)
Wed- 40 mins cardio
Thurs- weights (45 mins) and 2 hours of walking outside (gorgeous out today!!!)
I might skip off to the gym tomorrow or convince Tommy to come for a walk with me. We live near a beautful park with some water so I'd like to go there!
p.s. Although the scale hasn't budged, my face is looking a little slimmer. Oh ya and I swear my butt is getting a bit tighter. Must be from the lunges and leg lifts.

Yup running isn't so great for me either. For a while I was doing ok with it and then today it was a different story. I just wanted to get a bit of stress out by running around outside, and had to rush home - not exactly good for stress relief.
I think I was doing better with it when I was doing ab exercises regularily. Do you workout your abs at all? I found it helped get them 'used' to having to work harder.

That is soo much work Tina, wow, you really are doing great. I am like a yoyo, one day I am at the gym,the next I am out for dinner. No exercise at all today, but going to the gym in the morning and then going away for the weekend. Hoping to get some hiking in on Saturday or Sunday and then will be away til Monday night so unlikely to get to the gym til tuesday, then away from the following Monday with no gym for a whole week, I really won't know what to do with myself when I come back!
Hope you are all back on track from Monday's episode, my morning cramps have gone away, thankfully

Thanks Kat, thankfully my tummy is fine now. I do have abs exercises but tend not to do them if my tummy feels off which it sometimes does after working out, I will take your tip on board and make myself do them now.
I don't get D when running, I just pass wind for the first few minutes, then it calmed down, (apart from the belly wobbling) and it was only at 6am this morning that I got really crampy and was badly C this morning and crampy for most of the day. I'll see how I go tomorrow and report back.

Thanks Sinead. I thought I was slacking a bit because I skipped the kickboxing! Glad to see that you think I did well. It's like getting a cyber pat on the back!
It's true that you feel it - going back to the gym after being away. Just don't forget to go back! It seems like you live a pretty busy and social life so getting excercise in there must be kinda hard. Going anyhwere fun?
I actually surprised myself today. I started my weight routine with my bicep curls. I usually do 5lb weights in each hand but found it much too easy so I am up to 8lbs now! Doesn't sound like a big deal to some but to me it shows that I must be improving. My trainer told me to challenge myself, so I am!

No problem
Things have been a bit mad lately, they always are for us in April & May as we have both P and My birthdays, Easter, my sister's bday and at least four or five other friends bdays too.
This weekend we are going to stay with P's Mum in Sligo tonight and then we are going to tour in Donegal and Derry and stay in Derry on Saturday and Sunday night. Sunday is P's birthday so his pressies are wrapped and waiting.
Next week should be calmer
Way to go you on your 8lb weights, I'm adding one minute to my running each time I go to challenge myself too. We can do it!

Sinead, you're welcome and thanks for the encouragement as well. Hopefully I'll get there eventually. I'm sure you'll do great on your fun run although I'm not sure how fun that would be. lol....good luck.
