Does anyone here belong to Curves? If so, is it a good workout? I don't really need to lose weight. I do need to tone up though. Would this be worthwhile?

a) if you can do it often its great for a basic toning thing.. but... b) there is only one resistance setting on the machines and eventually it jst was too low for the level of fitness I was at... so it was a waste of $$.. right now, if I thought I'd go regularly it might work well.. instead a friend is brinigng over DDR and I have twister moves and those work well for us to do in the privacy of our own homes.

I have some issues with their ties to the anti-choice movement. I encourage you to research this (just do a search on Google or something) so you can make an informed decision depending on your personal politics...

My trainer says it's better than nothing but it becomes ineffective pretty fast.

You're welcome! I'm so glad I could help...it's a really important issue for me.
I also suggest researching other gyms in your area...there may be a non-chain women's gym nearby, if that's what you're looking for. Good luck!
