Hi! Good for you for trying to eat healthier. An apple is really high in IF and especially difficult for those of us with IBS-D. You might be better off with oatmeal, white toast, and a banana or applesauce for breakfast. Safer fruits include bananas, mangos, papayas, see the IBS Cheat Sheet for a more complete list.
Also, it's better to be eating every three hours or so, small meals, so you don't go with an empty stomach for too long. All this info is under the IBS Diet guidelines and IBS Diet FAQ.

Apples give me all kinds of painful D problems. I like to eat bagels with soy cream cheese, bananas, or what I call the egg burrito for breakfast. Oatmeal is really good, too. It's eggs (or egg whites if the yolks bother you), with soy cream cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla and sauteed just enough to make the tortilla brown. Very tasty. I usually have some sort of pasta/rice/bread dish for lunch. Dinner varies but I always make sure to avoid the trigger foods.
