Shell, how is your mom? I sure hope she is well and I wish her the best of everything.

Mom is doing much better.... she now takes less pain killers and she plans to go back to work on the 15th. My Grandmother going to tomorrow (1/3) for her surgery, also a knee replacement. Thanks for asking!!

Spent all day in the recliner, knitting, hoping and praying it would get my mind off my tummy pain.

Maltitol is EVIL! I didn't have any yesterday, so I finally felt better after taking a Donnatal. Tummy is still rumbly today though. Must have been the dairy. I tell ya, this Weight Watcher diet is gonna kill me. WHY do they have to put that stuff in everything?

No dairy today, and no HFCS either. I got a Weight Watcher cookbook, so I'm just gonna make my own stuff from now on; no more "ready-made" crap for this gal.

Oy....

You poor thing, that is so awful! I am so glad that nutritionist warned me about that stuff because the only one I was searching for in foods was sorbitol.
I just wanted to add that I think avoiding all the ready made is such a good idea. Even if it weren't so upsetting to your tummy, I think all those artificial sweeteners and stuff are not good for you at all.
My nutritionist (am I getting annoying with that? ) says that it is always, always best to make your own food and avoid anything ready made or packaged. So far, I am finding this really hard! Especially for taking food to work with me, and things. I am getting better, but I think it's really hard.
I think the WW cookbook is a good idea, so you know everything you are eating. One of my New Years Resolutions is to cook more healthy meals and snacks, so let us know if you find any really good recipes that won't upset any tummies!

Good luck, can't wait to hear how you are doing!

Cheers,
--Steph

The WW no points curry is very nice and quick to make, I don;t have the recipe with me just now but it involves a tin of tomatoes, some curry powder and as many no points veggies (that you can tolerate) that you can find. Surprisingly good, especially when you are hungry.

I try to make most of my meals from scratch, the key is to have spices and herbs at hand to make them tasty. Try a piece of fish with a little black pepper or herbs and lemon in the oven wrapped in tinfoil (15 mins yummy) I make a ratatouille and eat it as a pasta sauce one night and as a vegetable the next with fish.

You'd be amazed how easy some of the chinese stirfry sauces are to make yourself with the right spices in your spicerack.

If you need major inspiration for a particular dish you crave ask here and someone will sort you.

BEVRS- that cake has given me the WORST chocolate craving ever. I love chocolate and raspberries, I have an AMAZING very unsafe recipe for a chocolate and raspberry tart...mmmm! Post if you want it and watch your guest swoon when you serve it after dinner
