Well, I PLANNED on getting back on the LIFE STYLE TRAIN but had all those extra munchies left over since everyone pooped out on us for New Years...hehehe So, we had muchies all day long...BUT I did go for a good 3 mile brisk walk with my trainer (being pulled) by one of her dogs... Lily...the cute little pit bull.

Tommorow I train with her at a NEW gym at 11:30am she has gone independant.... so this will REALLY be some quality ONE ON ONE training time!! (I'm scarred) LOL

I also PLAN to start the hypno cd's tonight....

Spent all day in the recliner, knitting, hoping and praying it would get my mind off my tummy pain.

Maltitol is EVIL! I didn't have any yesterday, so I finally felt better after taking a Donnatal. Tummy is still rumbly today though. Must have been the dairy. I tell ya, this Weight Watcher diet is gonna kill me. WHY do they have to put that stuff in everything?

No dairy today, and no HFCS either. I got a Weight Watcher cookbook, so I'm just gonna make my own stuff from now on; no more "ready-made" crap for this gal.

Oy....

Hey Shell,

Just wanted to let you know what a huge influence you are reading your weight loss goals and achievements.
I read your story again, and I can relate.

I've lost 76 lbs. doing the South Beach diet, and exercise.
I started in June, 2004, and slowly and healthfully lost 76 lbs. with healthy eating and regular excercise. My doctor is thrilled! Although I don't have any real health problems, I'm sure they were just around the corner being 100 or so pounds overweight.

Then, in the spring of 2005, I became very, very sick.
I could no longer digest anything, and my doctor put me through a battery of tests. After also have all the tests done by the gastroenterologist I was referred to (endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, you name it....), I was diagnosed with IBS, Lactose Intolerance (had that test, too), and I soon discovered I have an intolerance to all or any wheat products whatsoever.

I read Heather's books, and got healthy again (Thank God), but the thought of trying to lost the rest of my weight is completely overwhelming.

I have also put back on about 14 or so of the pounds I lost over the last six months from living on Ensure and baby cookies for about 4 weeks, from being able to digest nothing!!
And, of course, Christmas, and I am sick again.

I have rejoined the gym again, I have a trainer and I LOVE YOGA!! But, I am wondering what you are eating most days to lost the weight!

Thanks for your inspiration!

Sincerely,

Sunni

Kind of a veg. out day. Had guests for lunch so I had to fake cooking! (My toothless grandmother! Thank goodness she loves my food processor creations!)

Crispix

Extra small organic banana

Portabella caps. sprinkled with Rice parmesan cheese
Quinoa pilaf/risotto thing (thought I'd try something different & it was AWESOME!!! Both guests took leftovers/meow-bags)--shiitake mushrooms, dulse, zucchini shreds, matchstick carrots
Steamed asparagus

Dessert: IBS-safe hot cocoa made with Vanilla Rice Dream
(2 mugs!!!)***YES! I spiked mine with coffee!***

Leftovers from Lunch for dinner

2 Organic apricot snacks

Earl Grey
Probably about 2L of the Iced Herbal tea I made for Lunch
(Trueblueberry/Rosehip)
Lots of camomile tea in the evening.

NOTES: I still feel really beyond gross from that nasty sugarless gum binge/lapse!!! This will take a few days to blow off.

Kate.

Got half way through a round of weights and got grumbles really bad. Had D and tried to finish exercising but couldn't. I felt yucky the rest of the morning.
Calories about 1800. Exercise 1 round weights/ball.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Sounds good, Shell.

I hope all is well with your mother.

Stress and emotional eating is something I also deal with. (I hate it.)

I am looking forward to your threads so I have an idea of how you attained and are attaining your weight loss goals.

Keep up the good work and keep the posts coming.

You have a deal with the weight we've gained!!!

Thank you,

Sunni

You poor thing, that is so awful! I am so glad that nutritionist warned me about that stuff because the only one I was searching for in foods was sorbitol.
I just wanted to add that I think avoiding all the ready made is such a good idea. Even if it weren't so upsetting to your tummy, I think all those artificial sweeteners and stuff are not good for you at all.
My nutritionist (am I getting annoying with that? ) says that it is always, always best to make your own food and avoid anything ready made or packaged. So far, I am finding this really hard! Especially for taking food to work with me, and things. I am getting better, but I think it's really hard.
I think the WW cookbook is a good idea, so you know everything you are eating. One of my New Years Resolutions is to cook more healthy meals and snacks, so let us know if you find any really good recipes that won't upset any tummies!

Good luck, can't wait to hear how you are doing!

Cheers,
--Steph

The WW no points curry is very nice and quick to make, I don;t have the recipe with me just now but it involves a tin of tomatoes, some curry powder and as many no points veggies (that you can tolerate) that you can find. Surprisingly good, especially when you are hungry.

I try to make most of my meals from scratch, the key is to have spices and herbs at hand to make them tasty. Try a piece of fish with a little black pepper or herbs and lemon in the oven wrapped in tinfoil (15 mins yummy) I make a ratatouille and eat it as a pasta sauce one night and as a vegetable the next with fish.

You'd be amazed how easy some of the chinese stirfry sauces are to make yourself with the right spices in your spicerack.

If you need major inspiration for a particular dish you crave ask here and someone will sort you.

BEVRS- that cake has given me the WORST chocolate craving ever. I love chocolate and raspberries, I have an AMAZING very unsafe recipe for a chocolate and raspberry tart...mmmm! Post if you want it and watch your guest swoon when you serve it after dinner
