--zucchini "hash"/portabella mushrooms (sprinkled with rice parmesan and a splash of balsalmic) ***yum!*** (with lots of IMAGINARY ONIONS AND GARLIC AND CHILLES, lol!)

--corn pops

--green bean/spinach puree

--pretzels

--more pretzels, except dunked in Dijon Mustard (mmmm...I love Dijon) ***must get that organic stoneground cinnamon one***

--the most sour kosher IMAGINARY PICKLE!!!

Okay, I want to share some NEW PERSONAL IBS/diet goals.

1. No force-feeding myself veggies!

I don't know why, but what used to be agreeable is actually nauseating and gives me D/attacks. Therefore, I will not force-feed them and only eat the few I have designated as "safe" prepared in a safe manner. If, after preparation, I get that "anxiety" feeling, I will not eat them at that time and only consume them when I get a "signal" that it's okay.

2. I will continue to eat what feels good, i.e. STARCHY CARBS. and reprogram my "judgement" nature rooted in past indoctorination.

Why? Because they are the best thing for my IBS. I'm still experimenting re: what I like/what feels good. CEREAL, totally is my friend at this time! The D attacks are reduced when I do this, as well and my mood is improved.
And, they are everything but fattening--rather satisfying/energizing.

So, bah! I love me and my animal self has given me this feedback.

Thanks for listening and if you want to share ideas/opinions/support it would really HELP me IN REPROGRAMMING myself and PRACTICING these goals.

Food processed, it doesn't give me D, unless I O.D. on it (and I've done that!)

Actually, I think the iron constipates me a bit.

But, lately, because I cannot eat as much, LESS SPINACH and only when desired.

If I don't food process IF, it wrecks me (gas/D/cramps)and due to late trends, I need to reduce or take a hiatus as I'm trying to firm things up a tad. So, maybe I'll try to eat spinach as a "condiment," or with more SF (i.e. spinach/potatoe puree--"green potatoes," a favourite comfort food!)

I could not even keep track of what I ate on my two thanksgivings in Vermont...massive binging on veggies and rice and everything else in sight..let's leave it at that. So much swelling and pain saturday.


B- Puffed Millet with Almond Milk, Peeled apple
L- Mushroom Risotto (crimini!), rice parm, mmm
Snack- 1/2 p. millet 1/2 organic frosted flakes with almond milk
Snack2- Imagine Creamy Brocolli Soup! SO GOOD!
D- Small baked potato, peas, green beans
Argument with Boyfriend = major sugar cravings =
Envirokids Rice Bar, Soy Yogurt, 1 GF cookie

Cals - 1074
Still swollen at the end of the night but not as bad as I had feared..and my holiday was very pleasant. My bf's parents were super sweet and very respectful, making sure I had enough to eat that was safe and gluten free/vegetarian without making a big fuss over me.

Getting Your Spinach new

Kate, I put spinach in my meat loaf. I used to use fresh, but then I saw Rachael Ray (Food Network TV) use defrosted frozen chopped. She demonstrated putting the spinach in a tee-towel and wringing out the moisture so it doesn't "leak" into the pan. It works perfectly, and really enhances the meat loaf. You can find my turkey meat loaf recipe in the Recipe Board, but any meat loaf recipe works. It's a super way of getting spinach without the cramps.

*spring mix salad with goat cheese, salmon, cranberry sauce

*spinach wrap with rice, beans, tofu, and veggies

*mixed nuts

I had WAY too much IF yesterday, and I'm paying for it today! It's been nice seeing my family, but I can't wait to go home to my apartment, where I have access to all my favorite safe snacky foods.

I think that is exactly what you should do!

Listen to your body. If your body doesn't like veggies at the moment, don't force it. I don't......I was....but it made me sicker, too. So, I don't do it anymore. I do, however, have to force myself to eat, period, right now because my tummy has shrunk too much.

The starchy carbs definitely are better for your IBS than straight veggies, so I think you will be feeling better really soon. Definitely stick with the cereal, too, since you like it.

As far as carbs go, I love them. They don't put weight on me at all like I would like for them to.....the only carb that I cannot do is plain white rice. GAG ME!!!!.....I hate it!!!! It makes me very C and bloated and gassy......I absolutely hate plain white rice. My body hates it, too, and it just tastes disgusting....to me

Anyway, good luck to you and keep me posted on what you're eating and how you're reacting to it!! I need to know these things for my reflux too!!
