Heather, could you or someone else comment about the use of Bovine Colostrum in the treatment of IBS. Is it contraindicated? My reading of the subject indicates thatcolostrum helps heal the intestinal tract. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, Shell Marr. There is considerable ambiguity about Bovine Colostrum. One misconception about it is that it is a dairy product. Well, it does not contain lactose. Also, it is available in defatted form. I have been unable to locate specific info re its benefits or contraindications for ibs d.

and that was when I was at my worst. It was even recommended by one of my M.D.'s yet it did nothing except put a big dent in my wallet. It may be good for some things, but in my opionion, not IBS.
Your best bet is to follow Heather's diet/teas/peppermint caps/fiber...reduce stress, exercise..and all the other things she recommends. Believe me, if there had been valid studies on it and it proved to be helpful, even for just a few, it would have been in the research library here.
My own choice of additional supplements have been in the form of probiotics and digestive enzymes. Those HAVE been proven to be helpful to many with IBS.
