I'm due to have my baby any time in the next week and I've been really having a hard time dealing with the stress of it. I'm going to the doctor weekly now and just going there has always caused me a lot of anxiety. I can't stand sitting there so exposed waiting for the doctor to come in. The whole time having stomach cramping and flatulence. I try to first of all eat only soluble fiber before I go and I do a lot of relaxation breathing while there or I try to read to get my mind off it. But, come evening and something gives way and I'm in pain in the bathroom again. I've been doing 3 tsps of acacia a day in two intervals of a tsp. and a 1/2 each. I did up my dose gradually, but had spasms every day so I lowered it. Hopefully my gut will be back to it's old self after the baby comes. Just having a bad time of it right now and it's so darn discouraging. I started acacia in August and was spasm free for a month. Then it came back and it makes me so sad. I wish I could control the stress better.

Hi Michelle

Sorry you're having such a tough time of it - stress can be a HUGE trigger My advice though is to re-post this post on the IBS Diet board. You will probably get a lot more helpful responses there. Good luck, and *hugs*!
