My husband suffers from IBS and we are just learning to change lifestyle to relieve his symptoms. In the literature it talks about the importance of sleep and a normal sleep cycle. This concerns me b/c he works nights three times a week. He nornally gets around 5-7 hours of sleep on his off time. Will this schedule interfere with his ability to stabilize his system? Any suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks

Oddly enought, I find that I am more stabile when I go to bed at about 2 in the morning and get up at about 10am. For some unknown reason, that schedule just works best for me. All I can say is try diffrent schedules and see what happens. As long as he gets the amount of rest his body requires, he should be fine.

If he gets plenty of sleep and eats safe food frequently then he should be okay IMHO. I stabilised whilst working shifts.
