Melissa & Company, thanks for the web site. I am newly diagnosed with IBS and am trying to gain my weight back. I do practice yoga and work out with weights, but still self-conscious about the weight I've lost since March 2005. I've been looking into whey. I've found a supplement called Spiruleen (think I spelled that right). It's a soy based shake with whey. Do you have any experience with that?

I think jaime was using it for a while; if I remember it correctly, she liked it! but hopefully she'll chime in here

I'm looking for help from those with a fitness back ground. I'm currently taking Soytein Energy Drink (w/Vanilla Silk Soy Milk) 3 times a day... my Personal Trainer asked me tonight to ask you guys on the boards what your thoughts are for someone to take Whey Isolates instead. How might it effect my IBS? I'm IBS-A (more on the C side).

My questions is...if it is safe for IBS which I'm thinking it is not since whey is a derivative of dairy, right? What benefit would the Whey Isolates have verses the Soytein?

I can then show my PT your replies...it will help her to understand why some things are ok and some are not for ME

THIS STUFF ROCKS!!

Just got my 2lb container of The Chocolate Egg White Protein Powder in the mail.... I will start using it Sat morning before I workout with PT Heather!!

I just requested a sample so I can see if it will work well in a shaker vs blender. http://www.jayrobb.com/cat_proteinEggWhiteAll.asp

The Chocolate Egg White Protein Powder works great just in the shaker and tastes good too!! I recommend using it with soy or rice milk vs water.... I will be ordering this (or finding it local in the HFS....as soon as I start to run low on the other. Or, I might even just order it and use both...

Hey! Thanks for that. Haven't heard anything but will keep looking. I bought a one-serving packet but am still working up the courage to try it (you know...when you know there isn't much to do the next day in case it hits wrong!)

Hey Shell,

Sorry to resurrect such an old post, but I just tried the vanilla variety of this protein powder and I have to say it's the best-tasting one I've had yet. I've tried gensoy and a couple others, and they all taste a little mealy. Anyway I usually make a totally unsafe-for-ibs shake with the protein powder, ice, water, cocoa powder, instant coffee, and spelnda (I know, I know but I'm so stable now ...). Anyway I am a real chocoholic and I was wondering, obviously, if I could just buy the chocolate flavor and skip my extra ingredients (except for the coffee, hehe). Is it any good? If it tastes icky I'm going to be so mad that I wasted 15 bucks when the vanilla already does the trick. Does it really really taste like a chocolate shake?

Thanks,

Amanda

I really like the choc... it is runny...but no different then the vanilla... send an email to info@jayrobb.com and ask for a sample... they will send it in just a few days...they are GREAT about that. Tell them you want the egg white choc protein (not whey).

Thanks, Shell. I'll request a sample. I just don't want to pay for a whole big tub of it if it's going to be yucky -- and I have a HUGE problem with throwing away food, so I know it would just sit in my cabinet forever. Thanks!
