I'm a newbie trying the IBS food plan and needing to drop 70 lbs to boot! Much to my surprise and relief in the 3 days I've been doing this I am symptom & pain free for the first time in dare I say years. IBS came to my world in 1980. Here's what I ate today. SF in chamomile tea Breakfast: 2 white toasts with nutella (an experiment gone bad, yuk...kids will get the nutella).... Lunch: peppermint tea, 2 flour tortillas with eggbeaters and turkey bacon (great, but one would have been plenty).... Snack: Water and a couple small apple cinnamon rice cakes
Hubby and I are planning a walk this afternoon. First one in years also!

hi guys sorry about my lack-of-posting. ive been having some bad food days and was too embarrassed to report-in. yesterday i did bad but i drank 3.5 liters of water!!! i think thats what ive been missing alot of---anyways, im sick today so i havent eaten much since i woke up at 10 but:
B--*blueberry-peach FF soy-smoothie --peppermint tea --water
went for a 2-block dog walk but it killed my back!! i think i have the flu again or possibly strep but i hope not. my throat hurts TONS when i swallow so ive been downing water like crazy!! ill probably do some lite workouts later when my back isnt hurting and ill probably eat an apple and some soup/noodles for dinner. im feeling good today but always jinx it when i notice my good feelings so thats all ill say about that but you all know good-day feelings. also i think i actually have all the ingredients to make one of heathers breads! and since i cancelled work tonight, i think ill bake, veg in pjs and chill out with Lifetime!! hehe

Gosh I had pretty much the same thing as yesterday except no potatoes with dinner and a few pieces of chicken on my salad. Also last night I had a brownie to add to my report and tonight it is a little soy ice cream. So basically ditto from yesterday but remove 200 or so cals from the potatoes. That sounds good!
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

B: Cinnamon raisin bagel with scrape of butter L: tortilla wrap with honey chili chicken, peppers and tomato S: Luna Bar; ice pop; special K cereal bar Dinner: scrambled egg with mushroom and toast;nibbles on cold cuts while preparing dinner S: 4 squares Chocolate
Total calories: 1773
Activities: slow walk (I hurt my back so gym or vigorous exercise not an option) burned 83
BMR: 2284 + 83 exercise - 1773 food = 594-500 weight loss = surplus, YAY !
Today's success is attributed to the fact that I worked late so I ate a luna bar at 5pm, wasn't home as long to munch and then only had a small meal as I hadn't let my tummy get too empty, and I only ate what I needed.
Back on track, I think.

Well I had a really good legs workout yesterday, but the eating wasn't so great.
I was having a great day food-wise but then the bf and I got in a really big fight. Things are all ok between us now but well, that sent me straight to the kitchen cupboards It wasn't so bad IBS-wise but fitness/health wise... yeah. I didn't really keep track, so that was yesterday
Anyway, here's my workout, which was the good part of yesterday.
Squats 2 warmup sets + 3x6-10 Front squats 2x10 Calf raises 3x6-10 Leg press superset with calf press 3x6-10 Cable hip extensions 3x6-10 Abs (hanging leg raises, weighted crunches and oblique crunches - 3x15 each) 5 mins on indoor rower
OK. Food-wise, today is going to be better
