As some of you may know, I had a major med change last week for my OCD and depression. It was a major overhaul. A new med was added, as well. My problem is this: it has left me extremely nauseated so I can't eat. I have been forcing down super strong ginger tea, plain rice, water and melba toast (don't have soda crackers in the house). I'm starting to feel a bit less nauseated, so I'm trying to eat something (even just a few bites) every 2 hours or so, just so my stomach doesn't get totally empty.
The kicker is this: I feel so weak and jittery. I know my body and metabolism has taken a beating. I have no energy whatsoever. I don't have the energy to do any exercise, and just sitting up is a chore right now.
So what's next? I'm trying to add more food back in. Any suggestions? Any experience with this? How long do you think this will take?
I'm posting this here, because in the back of my mind, my ultimate goal is to get on a healthy diet promoting weight loss. I have 2 weeks left of WW and then I'm quitting. It has not worked. I'm going to try the BMR way.

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so awful right now Alicia. I'm afraid I don't really have much experience with meds or nausea and such. But my advice would be to focus on feeling better right now and not worry too much about weight and metabolism. I know that with me, my IBS tends to come first before fitness, so while I'm feeling crappy IBS-wise, I try not to worry about eating right for fitness/weight etc. I just find that it's an added stress - which obviously doesn't help - and hinders my ability to feel better.

So, my advice? Eat what you need to eat right now and once you're feeling better you can work on getting your metabolism up again. Until then, it can stay in the back of your mind and don't let it stress you out.

Hugs!
