So far, not too bad...

B: Bread & honey. Soy milk.
L: Baked potato with tuna mayo.
S: Baked tortilla chips. Bit of dark chocolate. Rooibos with soy milk.

Calories so far: 982 with a budget of about 2000.

PS. Hoping to have lost *something* this week...my first goal is to be 140 pounds by the end of July and for that I now need to lose an average of 0.6 pounds a week!

Good luck w/your goal Linz! I'd say it is a very healthy, managable one.

I know I have not been reporting lately since I've achieved my weight loss goal, but I feel very guilty about the lack of excercise and the over-eating I've done this week.

Last night one of my suppliers at work took us to dinner and that is always dangerous b/c they order all kinds of drinks, appetizers, desserts, that I don't normally get when I eat out. Even though I was good with my meal selection - luckily it was a seafood place (Mitchell's) so I had Shanghai Salmon - I ate WAAAAAAY too much. And I had 2 "adult beverages", one decaf, and dessert. Ate least we all shared dessert but I was so full at that point that I should not have had ANY.

And then today we went to lunch at Zingerman's Deli (famous for it's rueben) and I had a VERY UFO sandwich and my typical UFO beverage. And a piece of dark chocolate. But at least I wrapped 1/2 of my sandwich, only had a small coffee, and only about 1/8 of the chocolate bar.

Good, I am glad I posted. It's made me feel a tad better about myself. I made some bad choices, but at least I didn't go as crazy as I could have. Either that or I am just trying to justify my bad choices!!

At least I will be able to get a short workout in after work today, and if I am brave, I may even weigh myself to see how much damage I've done. I may be back to reporting full-time if it's really bad!

Activity: 40 minute walk

Food so far:

--2 c. papaya (not all at once! and pureed)
--spinach, artichokes, dill, parsley, cilantro, dulse, alfalfa, radish, lentil, clover and mung bean sprouts,
romaine, iceburg and a few cremini mushrooms, cucumber spaghetti (not all at once, some raw, some pureed) and celery, and green beans.
--about the juice of four lemons
--1/2 c. real cran. juice (in spritzers)
--lots of H20, oolong, jasmine, rooibos tea
--a banana
--a little fresh carrot juice as salad dressing base. Note: this is a great fat-free and flavourful salad dressing. Honestly!
--I'll probably have a little more fruit in awhile. I need something red.

I guess I'm having a starchy carb-phobic day and feel a little like cleansing. Interesting food combo note: steamed baby spinach and herbs, celery and raw fresh sprouts is awesome in the food processor--a demi-raw soup. The sprouts are a great "thickening" agent. Steamed artichokes are a treat, too. I probably should have had--no, I know I should have had a little cooked grain, i.e. millet or amaranth or quinoa--it would have tasted great with the creative green cuisine, but I was foolish and lazy and complex carb phobic, so I stuck to high SF fruits...a primitive day. I guess we have our moods! Must be the spring air.

Feel a little ambivalent re: new food pyramid guidelines. They are just that, guidelines.

Man, though--fresh papaya...YUM. Uh, it sounds like I spend a lot of time in prep., but seriously...i think it takes longer to do the dishes than anything else!

Everything you ate today sounds fantastic! Thanks for posting how you blend and combine everything. I found it very helpful. I'll have to try the carrot juice as a salad dressing base--what a great idea. Oh, and the pureed papya too. Yum!

Okay, so we were hanging out last night after dinner and I had some more chocolate with some sparkling wine Si decided to open! So my final cals for the day were 2319 - 300 over my weight loss budget! But not, at least, over my calorie spend for the day. Oh well.

Carrot juice is an awesome dressing. If you want to add a little "acidity" try a splash of apple cider vinegar. I find just about every storebought dressing makes me feel ill--even the no-fat Italian. Beet juice is pretty funky too...have you ever used it in a risotto? Papaya puree is great in the freezer. Sometimes I spunk it up with a splash of something tart like real cran. juice.
Oftentimes, with IBS, I experience a bad reaction to most dips, dressings, sauces (i.e. hummus, spinach, baba ganush) so I play. Papaya puree is really tummy soothing, incidentally.

I GAINED BACK TWO POUNDS.... (So that is a total of 77 lost since May 28, 2004) *It's that time of the month so I'm hoping that I just had water retention

I have already reached my FIRST goal that was to lose 40 pounds by Fall Sprawl! My SECOND goal was to lose an additional 20 for a total of 60 by Fall Sprawl.... which I did. My THIRD goal was lose another 20 for a total of 80 by January 31, 2005...but that did not happen....

Then my FOURTH goal... was to lose an additional 23 for a total of 90 pounds by April 30, 2005..... This may not be happening either....but it might be close But that is OKAY!! I'm working on NEW goals with my trainer. ... We are not aiming for a "WEIGHT" right now, but more eating the right foods, right portions, right times of the day (several small meals) and LOTS of exercise!!
