Dehydration, diuretics, etc

I need some ideas as to whether some foods are diurectics and why on Earth I can get so dehydrated so easily!

I'm feeling really dehydrated today, but my pee is almost completely clear! That would suggest to me that my body's gotten a diurectic effect from somewhere. I've had 1.7 litres (57 fluid oz) water so far today and it's only 2pm. Some of that water was even in weak bouillon (trying to get some salts in).

Does decaf black tea have a diurectic effect? I thought it was just the caffeine in tea that was a diurectic.

Or has anyone heard of someone having a natural deficiency of ADH (anti-diuretic hormone)?

I'm getting fed up of getting headaches. This happens to me at some point every summer and it's a HUGE bore.

Btw, I'm not having D.

How are you sleeping? ADH is produced only when you're sleeping, so if you're having trouble sleeping, you may not be producing enough. I know I have to pee a lot more nights I don't sleep well, and for once my human phys class came in handy in figuring out what was up.

I don't know if decaf black tea is diuretic, but I know whenever my mom would make me drink chamomile tea, it'd make me pee a lot. Are any of your meds possibly a diuretic? I know some blood pressure meds are, not sure about what else.

Sleep problems sound like the answer...didn't realise that was linked to ADH.

I'll check my meds too...didn't think of that!

Thanks.

Hmmm...sooo interesting! I also drink TONS and never seem to quench my thirst. BUT my sleep is a-ok and I'm not on meds. And I'm not drinking tea these days...just tons of water.

We thought it was diabetes...but thank G-d it's not!

Could it be a fibro thing??
