I've been meaning to post a story to make people realize how bad excessive caloric reduction can be. I adopted cassi at 13. One of the reasons I got her and her mom lost her was that she had been essentially starved- her mom chose to buy books and not food. Anyway- she is STILL fighting a horrid battle with health issues from that period of her life and had to deal with excessive weight gain on a normal human diet when she stopped growing because ehr body took YEARS to get out of that starvation mode it had been put in (per the doc). PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF.. its why I post when I see people doing too few calories.. now for me... I am a tiny person, 1600 a day as a minimum when I was tryign to lose weight and not getting extra exercise was fine... when I was doing better and getting exercise, that started going up, now I'm trying ot maintain and keep increasing caloric intake along with exercise and it isn't always easy.. but it does mean I can have small treats- like a muffin made from one of the yummy recipes here.
