If you get the chance and can read the post above this I had a couple questions about Boston cause I'll be there in June and thought maybe you'd have some good advice or something. Hope you get a sec to read it!

I don't live in Boston, but was there just recently... my mother lives in Brookline, which is a pretty nice suburb!

Casey and I had the great pleasure of staying at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast in Brookline. Their hospitality is nothing short of spectacular and the victorian house that it's in is gorgeous! If you're interested, the name of the place is The Beech Tree Inn. Here's the link... The Beech Tree Inn . The inn is just down the street from a "T" stop so you're not too far from transportation, and Beacon St., which is where all the stops are, is loaded with wonderful restaurants and stores. There's even a Trader Joe's!!

As for what to do... If you like to shop... I definately suggest Quincy Market! Also, Winter Street, which is right downtown, is a good place to go for shopping.

I wasn't going to suggest this, but thought about it and decided to anyway... I'm sure you're able to get great seafood in Florida, and I'm not sure how it compares to the seafood in Boston, although I'm sure it's different considering where in the ocean it's from, but you have got to go to a place down by Quincy Market called Legal Seafood (maybe they have one in Florida?). I wasn't a fan of lobster at all, but was convinced otherwise after the experience I had there. The food was awesome, not to mention the fact that the cooks were more than willing to accomidate my eating restrictions.

PS - The link I gave you for the inn has directions to places and tourist suggestions, so hopefully that will also help you out with what to do while you're visiting.

hey brit-

I did get a chance to read it.. Boston is alot of fun and there are tons of things to do here everyday.

unfortunately however, I don't have any recs for a hotel. I mean I do have the one that I work at.. the charles hotel.. which is phenomenal- and pricey however. My dads in the hotel business so before I moved here we only stayed at the charles because it was a hotel owned by his company. haha so I have no experience with any hotels out side of the ones my dad's company owns. haha.

if you can get a good deal.. the charles hotel in cambridge is amazing, and right in harvard square. and I can definitly recommend some restaurants around here as well.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!

I'll have to check out the inn. I would love to stay in a bed and breakfast somewhere.

And I'm so excited about doing some shopping too. I imagine the weather is great up there on the coast in the summer, so it will be a nice change from here. I'm hoping to head out to Cape Cod or Nantucket too.

Thanks again for taking the time to post all that!!

Thanks Ashley!

I'll have to look into that hotel some more but I don't think it would be out of our price range. My younger brother keeps begging my parents to let us stay at the 9-0 Hotel or the Boston Harbor hotel so I'm not sure what we're deciding on. A week is a little long to get a big enough room (or 2) for us for 7 nights. I think we might go spend a night in Vermont or something too. I'm so excited to go because New York and Connecticut are about all I've really seen of the northeast. And hey if you're there in Boston when I am maybe we can meet up for shopping or lunch or something!

Okay I must go get some work done. Thanks for responding and I'm sure I'll ask you more questions later

Boston is one of my absolute favorite places to visit, so I was excited to offer up my advice. DH and I went down the cape a few summers ago... I couldn't get enough of the fried clam strips! It's a long drive, but it's well worth it! (We only made it to Wellfleet, which is, I believe, the 2nd to the last town before you get to the tip of the cape.) There's lots of cute little souvenir stores along the way too to help you spend all your money.

Hi Ashley,
I hadn't seen this thread 'til now, I'm sorry that things went wrong somewhere.. That is so bizarre! I think boys are hard to figure out sometimes.. The same thing has happened to my friend a few times, and it drives her nuts! She goes out with a guy a couple of times, things are great and then suddenly.. CAPUT!! I don't get it.. and I dunno any advice.. but I just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone!
I'm sorry things didn't work out for you, though.. sounds like you had a good time while it lasted at least!
Boys are so hard to figure out!!
**big hugs**
Here's to a boy who deserves you, and who is hopefully not a 6 hour drive away!!

awe thanks so much steph!

I know I'm feeling really crappy about it right now. I mean I thought that things were great, he said that things were great, and then suddenly tonight he decided it wasnt' worth it and that we hadn't clicked after all.. which was strange cause I could have sworn I had felt it.

but boys are weird. thanks for wishing me luck with a local boy that likes me.. I'm feeling pretty crappy right now so i'll take all the luck I can get!
