Adding insolubles to diet causes 'd'

I have started adding cooked, peeled veggies to my meals and it gives me 'd' every time. Even with safe foods such as rice or bread. Plus I take my fibre supplement twice a day. Is there something else I could do to make these foods easier on my tummy? I don't get why my IBS doesn't like cooked veggies. Any suggestions would be great.

Hi,

I don't have any real advice for you beyond the obvious: Start very slowly and make sure you have a good soluble fiber base. If it's giving you D right now, I'd advise backing completely off and then starting again.

I think i'm going to have to do that. I also saw the recipe for the apple pumpkin bread which I'm going to try.

Ya, I'm going to back off. I'll even skip my fruit smoothie today.

I'm making roasted potatoes for dinner and the anti-depressant brownies for dessert. Wish me luck!

Thanks. The brownies were so yummy. I have a huge pan of them and so far my boyfriend hasn't had any. I can't eat them all. I guess I might bring some in to work on Monday.

Hi, I agree with getting insolible by using the breads or muffins recipes. I have d more than c when mine hits and I do quite well with the zucchini bread recipe or the banana bread. Also something that agrees well with me is Hansen's soy smoothies the peach flavor. Their a little high in price but look for bargains you can get a 4 pack and one will last 7 days in refrig after you open it. I have a 1/4 of cup to start off at first every other day. I have the same problem some times I do well with veggies and fruits and sometimes not. Moderation...is my key.

What about starting with the ones that are most mashable? Like sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, rutabagas, etc.
