Thank You, you answered my qustion. I kind of fiured that the side efects would be somehwat similiar to the antispasmoidics, but I wasn't sure. I can not deal with the blurred vision and the constipation it causes. I can deal with a little dry mouth but those other side effects are just too much. On the weekend when I don't have to go to work and look at numbers all day, that is fine, but not on a work day- that's for sure.
Thanks again!!!
Melissa

Hello everyone,
I too am IBS-C. I do get D occasionally. I experience the awful bloating and other unpleasant symptoms. I am so glad for Heather's diet. I am currently taking acacia fiber and working slowly up to two tablespoons a day. I hate constipation.

Hi this is Michelle and I am IBS C and was diagnosed with IBS back in 2002. So I am now going on three years with this. I am now taking Zelnorm which has been a god send. This website has also been a god send. I don't know what I would do without it.

Brown rice (insoluble fibre) would make me go too .... to the hospital, where they would have to connect me to a powerful morphine IV to kill the pain the brown rice would cause my gut (never mind the other symptoms)!

Just wanted to chime in and say me too! I like having our own place to discuss all the fun stuff. The books and the board have been a life-saver already. C just sucks.

a really long time ago i saw a book in a house about every common-known sickness. i read about digestion and ibs and i saw something that said "those experiencing D ought to try the B.R.A.T. diet"--B= BANANA
R= RICE
A= APPLESAUCE
T= TOAST
since i read that i didnt eat any of those foods b/c i was too scared. ive been eating rice applesauce and toast almost daily mainly b/c i read to do so on this site and i have still found no natural relief of my C. its all-day, every-day it seems, no matter how many "start-over" days i have any advice??
