sitting a lot??

does anyone notice that when they are sitting a lot their IBS is worse?
My job requires me to be at the computer most of the day. I am very busy and don't get the chance to get up and walk around that much. I use to work retail and was on my feet all day...and it seemed like my bloating wasn't nearly as bad then. Although I did get cramps often.
I'm not sure what else I can do. I enjoy being active and was always into sports. In college I was always walking back and forth to class, and going to the gym. Now that I have to sit so much, I just feel like it makes things worse. And I'd rather be out and about.

I have the same problem. I try to make up for it by excercising after work every day, but that can be hard. Even if I have more important stuffs to do, I try to make it a point to go file things away (I have a clerical job) every so often. make excuses for yourself to get up, even if it's really quick. I do know that it is hard when you are really busy, though.
You could also try drinking teas during the day to help counteract bloating.

In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that my symptoms are much worse when I am sitting in the class I'm taking. Why? Because I sit for hours straight--something I never do on the job or at home!
