Hi all,can anyone give me some info with this query?
I'm not sure if you have this product in your country but am wondering if Linseeds are simular to Psyllium seeds.I take one heaped TBS every morning in a bowl of Oatmeal and it works well with my (C).These seeds are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and fibre,is gluten free and lactose free, these seeds release the soothing mucins, coating the stomach walls and digestive tract and swell in the intestine for maximum
benefit,contains a balance of 60% soluble and 40% insoluble
fibre. Please bare with me,i also take Fybogel containing
3.5g Ispaghula husk, this can make some people bloat but i have been lucky so far.My query is this,i have read about
Psyllium seeds here and if i am correct these seeds don't cause bloating? Can i have some info on how you find these seeds to work for IBS(C)as maybe they are better than the seeds that i use.Hope i havn't confused anyone here. Many thanks.
Tina.

Hi Tina,
I used to take Linseed for over a year and thought they were very effective 'to keep things moving', but during a bad D phase I found I couldn't tolerate them anymore, that is, they would trigger D attacks (along with everything else). Psyllium seed are a bit softer on the system, I think, but I followed a discussion of some other people with D attacks the other day who said, in the acute case they'd skip a dose of the Psyllium husks until their system's calmed down a bit. I would agree with that, though thanks to the seeds I hardly ever have proper D anymore and normally I take the next dose as soon as I can after an attack because they seem to help against the cramping/pain!
