I would be interested to hear what other people think about the timing of pain or D after eating a trigger food. If you have an attack, do you normally find that the cause is something from your last meal or from something you ate the day before? I always look back about 24 hours but I've seen a lot of posts from people mentioning an attack quite soon after eating an offensive food. Does this depend on whether you are IBS-C or IBS-D? I'm also trying to figure out exactly where the offending food causes the problems. When it reaches the stomach, could that send your bowels into spasms? It has always seemed to me that if I get pain in my bowels then I need to look several meals back for the offender. If I get pain in my bowels right after a meal, it has never seemed to me that it could be something I just ate.
I hope I explained that well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have found both to be true. I have had it happen with an hour of eating something bad, like eggs or red lobster cheese biscuits(I love those ). I also have had problems the next day. I mostly have problems in the morning, before I eat anything, so tend to believe it is from something I ate the day before.

I have found that I will have "D" within an hour of eating. And if the "D" is particularly bad that evening the next morning I will have terrible gas or in severe cases - I will have "D" again.

I find that if I eat a large meal, no matter what kind of food, I have cramps, sometime for hours before D hits. I also have a hypercoagulation syndrome which causes D , so at times, I cannot tell which I am having, which is another problem all to it's self.

What is hypercoagulation syndrom?
Better question - How do you remember to spell that.
