Colonoscopy is Monday. For the prep do you prefer, the gallon, the pills or the 10oz. ?

NOT THE GALLON! In my opinion..... I threw up trying to do that. Either of the other ones would be better....

Definitely NOT the gallon. I was given phososoda (3 oz.) taken 1 1/2 oz. at a time. That was much easier than trying to drink a gallon of something you would rather not drink.

You're right, it is. That's why I opted for the gal. Besides you can get different flavors...I think I got the lemon lime. It's salty that's for sure but if you drink it quickly thru a straw that's put back a ways in your mouth you don't taste the salt as much.

I didn't have the option. My pharmacist and GI nurse said they rarely give the pills out to people. I would do the gallon. The directions for the gallon say you at least have to drink 3/4's of it and that was all I was able to drink. Since there is a time period that it needs to be ingested, I counted out how many ounces I would have to drink each hour. That way it wasn't so intimadating. My best advice is "DON'T GUZZLE IT!" That will make you throw up. Sip it. You can do it! I know you can! It's kind of like drinking Gatorade but it's thicker.
Lots and lots of people have done this. I know a man in his 50's who has to do this once a year. Imagine that!

Well turns out I was wrong.
I have to take ALL THREE.
You read right. ALL THREE. They say that is the "only" way to get completely cleaned out. Rediculous. So I have to take the little 6 oz. or whatever, then the gallon, THEN take the pills. It's gunna be a REALLY fun night.
Anyone read any good books lately?
