Medications for severe bloating? Any advice would be great!

I have had severe bloating 24 hours a day for the last 8 years. Doing Heather's diet, taking SFS. Been on Levsin, Librax, Bentyl, Gas-X, charcoal tablets, enzymes, taking Fennel tea with no help. Do strict diet with soluable foods. Nothing carbonated of caffiene. No relief from distention with bowel movemenet. Got the complete GI workup. My distention is terrible. I sometimes wonder if this is IBS. Any advice on medications or things to do for relief of severe bloating. PLEASE HELP!

Hi Michael,
I too had really bad gas (along with constant burping) and neither phazyme nor anything else seemed to help. My doctor prescribed Ku-Zyme (it's a digestive enzyme with no side effects and no interractions) and it really seemed to help me. I hardly burp at all now and I'm not saying that ALL the gas is gone but the majority of it is.

i was just like that till i cut out wheat... i never got tested for celiac or anything, but i noticed that even when i ate nothing but a toasted plain bagel or sourdough bread, i would bloat like a balloon, like clockwork, 5 hours later. maybe you are gluten sensitive?
oh, and another thing, i tried cutting out wheat in the past, because i suspected it, but i didn't realize that gluten also was in all the "wheat substitutes", like millet, rye, spelt... anyway, i'm off all those things now, and the bloating has never come back THAT bad like it used to. (i still get it, but nowhere near as badly, thank you rice and potatoes.)
