Hi! Thanks to a fellow sufferer in Japan - I now can order stuff from a bilingual Organic shop.

What sorts of things would be useful? What stuff should I look for??

Kim,

I'm not sure I understand your question? Do you mean which foods are important to buy organic? Are you wondering what are yummy foods to buy? I'll try and help you out once I know what it is you're asking!

Hope you're feeling well, happy Sunday!

I would watch buying things that have insoluble fiber. Heather describes it as anything that has a skin. The skin is insoluble fiber and the inside is mushy a bit and is soluble. Eat those within moderation and always make certain to have soluble coupled with it next door to it. Hope that helps, there is a diet faq on here and she tells you what you will need to get and what is safe.

I use the organic food store to buy fruits and veggies without pesticides, and they usually carry more ibs-friendly foods than a mainstream grocery (foods without a lot of preseratives or MSG - for instance, I found instant rice noodle soup - a lot like ramen noodles only not fried, no msg, and egg free.) I buy organic eggs and my soy cheese and milk there. My store also has homemade hummus - mmmm!

What I mean is:

when you go to the organic store - what sorts of things do you look for? What are you trying to buy?

well, i'm not sure what the store you're going to is like exactly. the one i go to is a health food store, and it has supplements as well as food.

i usually pick up my soy stuff there, like tofu and soy cream cheese and stuff. they have a frozen section, too, so sometimes i get meatless cheeseless pizza. if i had more money i'd probably get my fruits and veggies there, but it's more expensive so i don't, usually. if you can get organic or free-range eggs and poultry, i think those are generally much better for you.

mostly i buy anything there that i can't get at a regular grocery store.
