Hi all,
For some reason, I feel that this might be a dumb question but I hope someone can answer it.

If a person goes a long time, say, several months, without eating a certain type of food, and then eats the food again, can that cause a reaction to that food?

I have not had beef, pork or dairy for quite some time now, so I'm wondering.

I knew a person once who decided to cut out beef entirely from her diet. She said that after she did that, she could hardly stand the smell of it, and the thought of eating it again made her nausous.

Thanks!

Hi,
I'm not sure if it happens that way with everyone, but I think the amount of some given foods you are eating can change the way your body reacts to them... I have a friend who went vegetarian for a couple of years and then suddenly craved meat. She ate a steak, and was so sick (and she has no stomach problems). I think red meat can be hard for people to digest, so if your body has gotten used to not having it, it makes sense that it would be even trickier then...
This is not really an informed opinion, that's just what I've heard.
Hope this hopes (and that someone else can give you a better answer!!)
