and i've never had anyone tell me it's all in my head, thank goodness, or i'd actually have to describe all the things i've gone through. really, they don't want to hear it! i'd make it down and dirty, too, man! i've been waiting for that, but everyone's being so darn NICE.

You are lucky...maybe I should invite you to my next family function!

A lot of it is me though, I think. I'm a real people-pleaser and if I think there is even a remote chance that I'm going to hurt someone's feelings, I absolutely cringe I've slowly tried being more assertive, but it's really hard sometimes when you're the only one not eating certain things. Most of my friends and family are the "meat and potatoes" type. If I'm the only one at the table not eating any roast beef or ham (or whatever), it definitely gets noticed! But you are so right - it is not worth getting sick over (I just have to keep reminding myself of that!).

Thanks for the website. I just checked it out and e-mailed them, asking if they knew whether their product had any bad side effects for us IBS sufferers. It'll be interesting to see what they say in response. I'll keep you posted.

I just ordered some teeccino today They sell a "sampler" pack so I figured that was the safest way to go. I'll let you know how it tastes...

By the way, I also ordered some of Heather's Fennel Tea today too

Hi Miss Pepper!

Isn't that funny? We ordered at the same time!

I sent them an e-mail, but they never answered. I have a feeling they didn't want to deal with the IBS issue. (Can't say that I blame them.)

I figured, what the heck, I'd just order the 7-flavor sampler pack and give them a try. $10 ain't a lot -- if I find something I actually like and doesn't bother my tummy.

Yeah, lets keep in touch. If this stuff isn't a trigger, and satisfies the coffee craving, I think a lot of folks will be interested in it....

I'm actually another person who likes Rocamojo! As long as I brew it half as strong as they recommend I find it really tastes a lot like coffee and fulfills my cravings. On the downside, I've found that if I drink too much of it without soluble fiber it bothers me sometimes. Not as much as coffee, but somewhat. I wonder of it's just the brewing process... or maybe it's the acidity! Maybe this low acid stuff is the answer. I'd love to hear how it works out of you decide to give it a try!

I'm really excited about this Teeccino coffee substitute, so I e-mailed the company, but before they had a chance to respond, I went ahead and ordered a small 7-flavor sampler pack.

I just got their response to my e-mail, and I think you all might find it interesting:

Quote:

Indeed we have had a number of IBS and Crohn's disease sufferers tell us they find great relief drinking Teeccino! As you suspected, Teeccino doesn't irritate the colon. In fact, Teeccino contains inulin, a prebiotic soluble fiber from chicory root that helps support the growth of beneficial microflora including the bifidus bacteria of the colon. I think you will find that Teeccino tastes great because it is a blend of ingredients rather
than just one ingredient like soy beans. Also, my background of 30 years in designing herbal teas for companies like The Republic of Tea and Yogi Tea has given me plenty of experience in designing beverages that people love!

It was signed by the President of the company.

Miss Pepper ordered a sampler pack also; we should get them by next Friday. Both of us will let you know, after we've tried the stuff, whether or not we survived. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, check it out: web page
