hi there! so i have a question. I just bought a brand new bottle of Natural Balance IBx Soothing Bowel formula and um... i should've read the label cuz you can't take this while pregnant or breastfeeding (im' a nursing mom). paid $15 for it. Could someone else use these? wanna buy em off me? If not its no biggie i'm going to try to return them - but does anyone know if they work? LOL. second ? for you - anyone tried tofutti ice cream bars or sandwhiches? Are they worth the $ in terms of taste?
thanks in advance for your responses :0) barb

Hi to you too! I lived in Phoenix for 10 years, and miss it sometimes (but not this time of year!). I have not tried the Tofutti brand, but many years ago when I used to eat that sort of thing, there was a brand called "Ice Dream" that was pretty decent. And yes, I did get it in AZ, at the health food store. They had a carob chip flavor that was not half bad. If you find it, give it a try! Amy (transplant to New York)

Hi - the tofutti cuties are delicious! There's been tons of posts about them on the boards - all good! You just have to eat them after a safe meal, because they are a little high in fat. That's the way with most soy ice creams. Sorbets are good too and are usually lower in fat.

Wow! What part of NY are you from? I have lived all over. Calif, AZ, TX, Tenn, and now here. And we are getting ready to move again soon. No, my husband's not in the military! It's a long story! BTW-I made a goof on the name of that ice cream product. It's "Rice Dream" not "ice Dream". Have a good day!

Don't know if I mentioned this to you, but my parents are still out there (Gilbert). I see it's going to be 97 there on Sunday. No wonder you're asking about ice cream! LOL! Glad it's you and not me, Barb! (just kidding!). Stay cool!

Tofutti ice cream sandwiches are so yummy! As for sorbet, Haagen Daz chocolate sorbet is also delicious.

I like vanilla tofutti's the best. They also make chocolate, coffee and mint chocolate chip. THey are soooooo good. Well worth the money. They are about $3.00 a box here.

Chocolate Sorbet? You mean there is no dairy in it at ALL? Amy

I've never had a problem eating it, but I'm not sure if there is dairy in it or not I don't usually do well with dairy, so if there is any in it I would guess that it's not very much.
I'm at work right now, but when I get home I'll check the ingredients and let you know - I have some in my freezer

Sorry I didn't write this last night like I promised - unfortunately I had an IBS attack last night When I got home from work I went straight to bed.
Anyway, here is the ingredient list on the Haagen-Dazs chocolate sorbet container: water, sugar, corn syrup, egg whites, lowfat cocoa and cocoa processed with alkali, fruit pectin, natural vanilla, and salt. Underneath that list it says: Product may contain trace amounts of milk protein.
Like I said yesterday, I've never had a problem with it. The only time I eat it is usually after dinner and I don't eat too much in one sitting. It's kind of rich tasting, so I don't ever want a lot at once anyway.
If you don't think you can tolerate this there are other sorbet flavors, like lemon, mango, and raspberry. I'm not sure what their ingredients are though. Or you could try Soy Dream Non Dairy Frozen Dessert. I bought some today and I love it
Hope this helps!
