Slurpies?

Can we eat slurpies? Like from 7-11? I was trying to figure this out, I know that it's pop, but because of the ice I don't believe there's any carbonation, so that's good. And if you got a sprite or 7-UP flavor there shouldn't be any caffeine, so we that be ok?
With the weather finally starting to warm up here, I'm craving a slurpy...and it may be the only thing that keeps me from ending up with a milkshake!

They put something in the syrup that makes me violently ill... and I've been known to cheat and have a normal soda on occasion. I definitely avoid slurpees like the plague.

I'd make a soy milkshake instead.

Milkshakes? Eat your heart out milkshakes. Try a smoothie and you'll never look back. Soy milk, a banana, strawberries and a touch of honey, ice cubes. Throw it all in a blender and voila! An icy smooth treat. If I have soy ice cream, I throw that in too.
If you crave a real milkshake, use soy milk and soy ice cream. It's a pretty convincing substitute.

This is a good question. I used to love slurpies and bought them all the time. I now stay away from them because I kept thinking they had caffiene in them because they taste like soda.

Anyone know the answer to this? Is it safe?

They probably not only have caffeine (from some sodas), they're pretty much all artificial color & flavor. Probably not the best idea...

Yep, they usually have HFCS. Not a good idea.

Actually for me, slurpies dont give me any problems as long as I dont drink it on an empty stomach. I know there is high fructose in it which doesnt bother me all that much, so if you can handle things with fructose, I dont think a small slurpee will do anything. Everyones different but slurpees def satisfy my ice cream cravings with no problems:)

I cannot eat these at all anymore. I used to get them as a treat in the summer, because down here in Texas it gets HOT and there was nothing better than a huge slurpee to cool you off. I'd get the biggest one there is and keep it in the freezer and make it last a couple of days. I took one sip a couple months ago of a coke slurpee and my stomach immediately cramped up. So no more for me.
