I heard alot of good things about the stuff and i was wondering
a) How often should I take it, like everyday? and how much?
b)Is it safe to take everyday?

Bev should be on soon to talk about this. she is the unofficial spokeswoman for Equalactin, ya know!

meanwhile, i will attempt to, however lamely, answer the questions.

i tote it around with me in my purse (as Bev suggests) and take it before eating "on the run," like if i'm running errands and stop for lunch. i just chew up 2 of 'em and drink some water a little while before i eat (if i'm in a restaurant, i just chew 'em when i sit down, since it will be about 15 min. before the food hits the table.). i don't use these any other time, really, except a few times when i've felt a little "uh oh" rumbly... i chewed 2 then (and drank my water!) and that helped hold off the yuckies.

i don't see why not... it's soluble fiber. there's no warning on the package, that i recall. i bet you could take several "doses" a day with no problemo at all...

Well, as Jen said, here I am. I've established quite an Equalactin reputation for myself.

I doubt that you would want to take Equalactin on a regular basis because you'd have to be constantly chewing it up. Each tablet contains only a half gram of fiber, which isn't nearly enough. I don't know what dosage of your daily supplement you're up to, but I take 4-1/2 grams twice a day. In order for me to get enough of the Equalactin, I'd have to chew up 9 tablets twice a day! Yowza!

Even if you were addicted to the marvelous taste and enjoyed constantly chomping on these things, there's the cost to consider. 48 tablets cost $7. At the rate of 9 tablets per dose, that's only 5 doses. I can buy a 2-month supply of Acacia for only $11!

Now do you still want to take Equalactin instead of your Acacia or Citrucel powder?

Don't get me wrong; I love the stuff. As Janey said, I should own stock in the company. I certainly do sell it a lot. However, I keep it for emergencies only; for some reason, it just works when others don't.

Now, Jen . . . HOW YEW DEW-IN'?

i'm back at work and dewin ok!

i'm not as exhausted as i thinked i would be. which is GOOD!

however, i have no desire to do my work, so i seem to be playing on the boards too much.

i've got to get control!

i've got my next Doctor's appt today... we'll see. i'm going to tell her that her stupid "this'll help you get deep sleep medication" A) makes my mouth dry and yucky, B) makes me crave sweets, C) made me gain 6 lbs (in a week!), and D) only helps me get deep sleep every few days....

well, it's better than NO deep sleep, right!?

how're yawl dewin over there?

Doin' pretty good, Girlfriend. Got my sewing machine back and am burnin' it up again. Half done with my denim quilt top, and it's lookin' pretty damn nice, if I do say so myself.

My appointment with the nutritionist is tomorrow, and I'll take a week's worth of my food journal with me (at her request). Should be interesting . . . I think she's got a big challenge with me, she just doesn't realize it yet.

Glad you're seeing the doc again today. I wonder if they'll run more tests? Let us know what happens, 'kay?

Our favorite show is on tonite. I don't wanna watch, 'cause I just KNOW my crooner's gonna get the axe. BTW, I saw John Peter Lewis on Regis yesterday. Surprisingly, he was awful (but he had terrible accompaniment on the piano). He's making a record!

Let us know how it goes today, Cutie.

Bev

a) i will let you know how it goes. i should get some bloodwork results today, i guess. i just realized that.

b) hope the nutritionist is good! i'll be interested to hear what she says.

c) i hope i'm awake to see AI today!

d) don't worry about your boy... i really think in a way it's better for them to get to the finals and not be the winner. if you're the winner, you get the contract with who they tell you, and you go everywhere they tell you, when they tell you. if you get to the finals and don't win, though, you can sign with a company that's a great match with you and do your own thing!

e) i will let you know what happens, like i said, but you need to let us know what happens with YOU tomorrow! Deal? Deal.

Hey Jen! As the resident expert on fibro sleep meds, just wanted to add my 2 cents. The dry mouth gets better as your body adjusts but never goes away completely. Look for Biotene toothpaste, mouthwash and chewing gum, which help alot. As far as B and C, these side effects may also lessen with time, but there are others she could try also.
As far as D, try adding two tablets of Benadryl at bedtime -- did the trick for me and is cheap and safe and OTC. Or there's other things she can try like Ambien which works for a lot of people on the fibro boards.

Just don't give up, okay, sweetie pie?
