Worth a try for nausea?

Hi everyone! I was reading an article in First magazine about secret tips around the world, and I came across this one from India:
"Nix nausea instantly - Scratch and sniff lemon rinds to quell queasiness. Women in India keep lemons at the ready as a natural remedy for nausea since its sour smell instantly distracts the brain from whatever is causing stomach upset."
Don't know if it really works, but it can't hurt to try, right?

I have heard that lemon is really good fro nausea before. When I was pregnant I used to put a slice of lemon in my glass of water and it really helped.
I'm afraid to try it now though because I'm not sure how lemon juice like that affects IBS.

I don't know if water with lemon is okay for IBS. I never thought about that. I always get a water with lemon when I go out to eat (which then again, isn't THAT often ), and I've never had a problem with it. My water at home, I'm just too lazy to do the lemon, but I do drink bottled at home, which to me tastes much better than from the tap.

Kinoz - I think that a slice of lemon in your water should be just fine. Juices are acidic and triggers for many, but in small amounts I consider them to be quite safe. I would give it a try. Start with a small slice if you're nervous.
