I used to purchase syrup of coke at a pharmacy when my kids were little. I imagine you still can.
I know we are told not to drink the carbonated coke but I have to tell you when I am queasy or slightly nauseous, coca cola has been a savior.

I have heard that you can add a bit (maybe 1/2 tsp.?) of sugar to a glass of cola to kill the carbonation, which is better for an upset stomach. Since there is so much sugar in there already, the thought of adding more is sooo unappealing, but its cola syrup is probably pretty sugary too. When you're nauseous....whatever works, right?

Coke for nausea?? Wow! That's a new one for me!

I used to be a Coke addict. 6/500ml bottles a day. Then I figured out that it was poison to my bowels...

...I tell ya though - like liquid gold to my tongue!

yes, exactly. i still go and buy a coke when nothing else will settle my tummy... it always works. but i figured it's on the "do not drink" list, so if the syrup by itself is safer, i'd try that. i guess i'll go ask at the pharmacy sometime.

thanks!
