I was just recently diagnosed with IBS and I am overwhelmed with all the changes. I'm just not quite sure where to start, its hard to eat that way becuase it is so large of a change and I just recently started college. Just wondering if anyone could give me a good place to start.

College will be a wonderful part of your life, and we'll all get through this together, I hope. I'm at the other end of life...I'm a teacher, and this thing is hitting me hard, too. Been dealing with this since high school, and right now I can't seem to get this under control. UGH!!

Can you eat Uncle Ben's instant rice. I love salads from the drive thru, but what should I get on them. Safe dressings? Also, how do you wean yourself off coffee if you're not a morning person?

Rice should not be a problem. I buy frozen entrees all the time but stay away from some with too much red meat or too creamy. In Canada we have a brand called Healthy Choice. Avoid Swanson's.
