diarrhea, pain etc

Am I the only one out there that when they have diarrhea that they get nauseated and the left side hurts. I have Diverticuli, dumping syndrome and IBS. I'm taking the items that Heather has but I just wonder if any body else gets the nausea? I'm IBS'D

I do! I only have the IBS-D, but I feel like something's either pinching or someone's stabbing me in my left side, chills, and nauseated. It's a great feeling, isn't it?

hi there,
I just found this site last week. I'm working through the program now. Anyway, I get a lot of pain in the lower right side and lateral to belly button on right side. Some times the pain goes up into the gallbladder area. And, go figure, my gallbladder is ok. Yes, I also have nausea, bloating...and D which I can't stand!

yes, jodane, I get those symptoms too! no doubt it's that part of colon spasing out! sometimes it helps to massage it. as for the nausea, try some ginger tea. it's horrible isn't it!

I am also a D, and I also have diverticuli. Yes, I also get nausea on occasion, and sometimes it even wakes me up. Isn't it fun?
I don't know what "dumping syndrome" is, so I can't comment on that.
Are you following Heather's program? Do you have her books? Are you taking a soluble fiber supplement?

Hi Bev; my Dr. once told me that I have " dumping syndrome". It is when you have the quick urge to have a bm and it just quickly comes out. I know when I get a major cramp,& nausea;I have to go dump!! An expression here is "I gotta go have a dump"!  Sue

I get the pain in the lower right side. OUCH!!! The last time I was in the E.R. they told me it was gallbladder colic. The gallbladder was fine after about an 1hr. of x-rays and bloodwork. I wish they could take out part of the intestine and it would help.

Dumping syndrome is where what you eat goes thru the stomach immediately. When you start healing after the diarrhea does it feel like it actually is healing in the bowels? hard to explain. I've had this for 30 years, my 3 sisters have it and my one nephew. I seem to be the worse because I had stomach surgery years ago. Yes I've had her books since the beginning but just now really getting into it. I was spending about $200 a month at my health store getting all these supplements but only 40% helpful. I just started on the chat room and I love it. I live in norther IN and hope to get a support group going.

I do if I let myself get too constipated to where I'll get diarrhea for up to five days straight and it hurts so much I throw up. You have my sympathies and stick with what you are trying to do! Maryh

You aren't alone! My left lower section just aches for a few days after a long bout. It hurts to touch or lean on anything or walk, just sore and raw feeling.

okay my question is if IBS is on right side, why does it hurt along my whole left side? I have diverticula on that side and they start singing too.
