I'll pass along what I know. I don't use any myself but hubby does for his tender butt. I'm raiding his cabinet to look up the names. He takes lots of meds and has lots of diahhrea from it. He used to use the baby wipes which had something similar to alcohol in them along with something soothing and they made his little tush irritated, dry and itchy. His colon/butt doctor told him to try a few other products. A & D ointment after diahhrea (sort of like diaper rash ointment in the baby section of the store). Also Balneol which is over the counter but pharmacist may have to order (soothing perianal cleansing lotion). The latest is a prescription but he loves it. Took the itch completely away. It's called Trimincin/Acet 0.1% cream (generic for kenolog). Apply topically after BM & at bedtime.

What Do the Always feminine wipes have have on them, anything drying? Are they flushable. Hubby is still using those baby wipes to apply these creams but washing them before use to get the alcohol type drying stuff (whatever it is) out which is a PAIN IN THE BUTT!! Still searching for the perfect wipe.

GREAT info in here! I'm gonna see if I can't get some of that cream at Safeway. THANKS!!

"Always" wipes: you can find them at the drug store in the feminine product department. The ingredients: water, propylene glycol, PEG-75 Lanolin, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Polysorbate 20, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1, 3-Diol, Fragrance.

Now if you can make out what all that says, you're a far better person than I! BUT it does say: "suitable for use in external vaginal area; ALCOHOL-FREE; safe for sewer or septic systems. For best results, use 1 or 2 wipes per flush."

Hubby likes these as much as I do, so I'm going to continue with them. However, they're not cheap, and I can't find refills, so I'm stuck buying the plastic containers. I like them and use them for all kind of storage uses, but I keep having to buy more (and paying for them), which is very costly! I'm hoping when we move I'll be able to find refills.

I think Always are perfect wipes. I don't know if Cottonelle is alcohol-free, but I'm gonna check it out when we go to Safeway.

Thanks again!

Bev

Bevrs - Refills on Always new

I searched and found Always refills at wallgreens.com. Of course you would have to pay shipping. Probably not worth it. The ones in the box are $3.99 for 40 and the refills are the exact same price for 45, so you are only getting 5 more wipes with the refills. Is that about what you pay in the stores? I'm going to buy a box and let hubby try them.

Gosh, Sandy, I just can't remember what I paid for them. I can't get them everywhere; Rite-Aid Drugs is always out of them, so when I can find them there, I buy all that they have and store them.

I'm gonna print out your post, and the next time I go down to Rite-Aid, even if they're out I can find out what they charge. It HAS to be cheaper to buy the refills if I order a large quantity of them and pay only one shipping & handling charge. I just SOOO don't need any more of those boxes!

Thanks for the help. You're a very clever lady.
