Help!!

I did something so ridicules yesterday. I went to the movies, and afterwards, thought I was just fine. Well, I had a bit of a snickers bar, then a bit of pizza. I woke up at 3am with pain, took the peppermint tea, and the pain kept up.

Today it felt like it was getting better, the wamo!! I took a nap, woke up with a little pain, took a scoop, which is 3-TB of soluble fiber powder, and now I went to the bathroom twice, lots of pain, and I feel like I have to throw up it's so bad.

Help!! Now what. I'm trying to eat cream of rice, but I feel like throwing up. I'm drinking the peppermint tea.

For dinner, do I just try to eat rice? and should I eat soluble fiber

now for a couple of day?

Thanks
Christine

Hi there, Sorry you are feeling so sick - we've all broken the rules and eaten something bad for us. All you can do is move forward. Try eating all the safe foods for a few days to get your body back on track. Just soluble fiber foods and lots of water and peppermint tea. Sometimes Altoids are hard candy help me with the nauseau. I was thinking that when you took 3 TBS of fiber at once that it is too much at one time. I take 2 TBS of Acacia fiber but I do it throughout the day to keep me stable (no diarrhea no Constipation). I would stick with the fiber but check your dosage again. A heating pad might help for the stomach cramps.

Take care!
Debby

Christine, do you usually have that much fiber at one sitting? 3T? WOW! I don't take that much in a whole day!

Snickers bar? Pizza? Girlfriend, you're my kinda gal! Ooooh, Snickers were my very fave! Ooooh, Baby!

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system, how can I help you?

First of all, I wouldn't take any more fiber! Rice for dinner sounds like a good idea. And the peppermint tea. Lots of water. (Think of "flushing it" through you.) If you have any of Heather's peppermint caps, it's supposed to be a great anti-spasmodic. I use prescription meds for that, but that's another issue...

I'd do the usual -- soak in a nice, hot bath. Curl up in bed with the peppermint tea and a hot pack on your tummy -- and don't forget the trashy novel.

Get your mind off it, and just know you'll get better real soon. Next time you want pizza, check out Amy's frozen soy cheese pizza. Yum. And that Snickers? How about Heather's incredible Cocoa Rice Krispy treats instead? Ooooh baby! ......

Hi Beve,

Yes, I was taking 3TB in the morning each day. It helped me to get reg.

Amy's pizza? How does it tast? My husband is a baker, and he makes brick-oven pizza as well. One of the best. What about the souce? Is it garlic souce, or plain? I should tell him to start making foz. pizza's for the health food stores.

Now that this cycle is here, or is it that I'm getting my per., and it's acting up again? Lots of gas.

I know when this happened to me in my 20's the dr. put me on boiled chick., rice, with boiled carrets. yuck!

I have to try Heathers's Cocoa Rice Krispy treats.

Thanks Beve

Thanks Debby,

I know Beve said the same thing about the fiber. How is everyone taking it? 1TB each meal adding up to 3-TB a day.

One TB in morning, a TB at lunch, and a TB at dinner? adding up to 3 for the day?

Thanks so much for your help.

Hugs,
Chrisitne

Girlfriend, you're a lucky woman! Hubby is a baker? And he makes BRICK OVEN pizza? Oh, OH, OH! Check out the recipe index. You'll find pizza. Mags does a great little trick with sun-dried dried tomato, popping it in the Cuisinart to make sauce! Yeah! And it's GOOOD! Your hubby makes his own BRICK OVEN crust? YUMMY! You can ask him to sub soy milk and use soy mozarrella instead of that icky dairy stuff! Throw some turkey pepperoni on top. You are a lucky woman! The heck with Amy's frozen pizza when you have Hubby's Homemade!

And let me be the first to introduce you to our own special ADBs. If you like chocolate (and who doesn't?), you have to try them! Do a search in the recipe index for TessLouise's infamous "antidepressant brownies" (aka ADBs). We're all addicted to them -- oh, your hubby can just go wild -- and Kree's oatmeal molasses cookies? YUM! And Kree's "ultimate non-dairy chocolate pudding"? To die for. Hubby and I have Shanna's banana bread -- toasted -- every morning for breakfast with a little Soy Garden "butter" (it's MARVELOUS!). You'll find Heather's Rice Krispy Squares posted 5/05/03 (do a search); certain people here (who shall remain nameless -- but they know who they are) can't stop eating the stuff (they're WEAK!). Oh, and ya gotta try my chocolate banana frostie that I posted earlier this month (mmmmmmmm). Oh, I gotta stop; I'm gettin' REALLLY hungry!

Don't worry about having lots of gas for now. You're no longer throwing up, right? I have lots of gas all the time; it's not pleasant, I know. I could possibly control it a little better with fennel tea (but I hate the stuff), so I try to avoid food that causes me gas (such as my marvelous lentil soup with sausage -- check the recipe index). When I have my soup, I always have Beano with it, and that helps a LOT. Gas-X is good too, and I really rely on it whenever I'm around anyone else.

It's really good having you on board, Christine. You're gonna have to keep us posted on all the yummy things hubby makes for you. Why not print out the recipe index and give it to him, see what all he might like to try? Ooh, I really like him!

You got it, Girlfriend. 1T three times a day before meals.

Oh, you're gonna get SOOOO much better. Asking questions like this and getting answers from everyone -- yep, that's gonna help you a LOT.

Yaay, Christine!
