OH MY!!! I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ACID REFLUX TO THIS DEGREE! Along with having a wonderful attack (well, TOTAL "C") week-- even following the diet, sleep, and exercise... I get to enjoy acid reflux. It is horrible! We're talking when I don't burp up chunks of food (yuck... sorry for this), it burns like crazy all the way up my throat and my chest hurts...

Does anyone have any remedies or things to do for this? I mean, besides Tums or OTC drugs... natural remedies (the words I was looking for)... I'll love you to death if you can help a struggler out!!!

luvins,

ME

Are you having it consistantly? Cause if you are... go talk to your doctor and get on some meds. Acid Reflux is no freaking fun, and life is better with pills.

Are you using peppermint tea and/or caps? If so, just cutting those out may help. Another is to cut out known foods that will affect reflux........onions and garlic are 2. Another is to keep a food diary. You will get to see a pattern as to what foods/drinks are the culpit. Also, stay active after eating..........walk, mild exercise, yoga..........anything that keeps the food moving along and from backing up. Don't forget to give yourself a good dose of soluble fiber supplements (pills or powder) before you eat and eat all meals with a high percentage of soluble fiber foods in it. Have you tried using probiotics and digestive enzymes? They too could possibly help.

Chinagirl's right...........no need for acid reflux with some of the meds on the market today....(if that's the route you want or have to go).....ask your doc.

Top 5 things to do for acid reflux (IMHO):
1. No alcohol.
2. No coffee.
3. No tomatoes.
4. No citrus.
5. Don't lie down after eating.

This are all good rules, I will add, no caffine AT ALL, and nothing with carbonation... nothing kicks off mine faster than when I'm a bad, bad girl and have a diet coke. The pain!!!

Prilosec seems to work for a lot of people.
