Why me I had the 6 hr ordeal of IBS just a few days ago and this morning wake up with burning bleeding urine. Have to pee a drop every 5 mins. Not sure if I have a bladder infection or it's another one of my famous kidney stones. Waiting for hubby to get home with the car so I can drop some urine off at the lab in an hour or so as new doc won't prescribe anything without lab tests. Drinking lots of water and cranberry juice.

Do you have the usual tingling throughout your entire body, through to your fingertips, every time you pee just a few drops? I've had so many bladder infections and UTIs that this is always one of my symptoms. However, I've never had blood.
Good that you're taking in all that water. On a few occasions when I had a UTI -- not an actual bladder infection -- I've been able to knock it out of me with water alone.
I've never had a kidney stone, so I can't help you here. You say you've had them before? Did you have blood?
Hope hubby gets home soon with the car. You're not having any fun right now, I know!
Keep us posted. And get better!

You go ahead and feel as sorry for yourself as you want. But you're not alone -- we're with you.
Four more hours? Did they give you anything at all? And you have a constant need to pee, right? So you're spending those four hours on the pot?
Have you heard or seen those cushioned toilet seats? My aunt had one; I never understood why -- until now. They need to make toilets recline, with a foot rest, maybe install a flat-screen TV on the opposite wall, with a water cooler next to the toilet so you can keep flushing yourself with water.
You can't even go back to bed and "sleep it off." What about sitting on the pot with a good trashy novel?
Keep us posted, CrampGirl!

I'm with you on that one Bev!! Having a flat screen tv and a water cooler beside my reclining toilet would make IBS attacks much more bearable!!

LOVE your toilet decorating ideas, Girlfriend! Gives me ideas....
We're building a house right now, and I had the builder change the master bedroom configuration so my side of the bed is closest to the master bath. I'm gonna be about 10 feet away from the toilet! Yaay!
I also made sure he installed the toilet facing the window, so as I'm sitting there, I can look out at the incredible view of the forest.
A magazine rack, eh? Hmm... And a heater vent nearby? Okay, I'm definitely putting that on my "punchlist"!
Good ideas. Thanks, CrampGirl!
P.S.: Keep smiling. It'll help, I guarantee it. Here's Buddy, the Happy Tummy, to assist:

A mural on the wall of that brick building with the dome and towers might help you focus better and speakers installed to listen to Michael.

Love those cushioned seats! My hubby turned me on to them when we met. I can't believe I lived 27 years without them! Oh, well, 23 years with them is starting to equal out!!
As far as TV or flat screen, I can do better than that! My laptop is wireless. We have a wireless network set up in our house so I can surf the net and chat with you all while sitting on the potty!! (Haven't actually had to yet, but it is technically possible.) Put that on your punchlist, Bev!!
Crampgirl, you poor thing, with the kidney stones -- NO FUN and NO FAIR!! Feel better soon.

Thanks, Bev! Hubby Andy gets all the credit. He's the techno guru in the family. Without him, I'd still be doing snail mail!

Just got the word - UTI (not to say that there isn't a stone as well on it's way down, but I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one) but they are calling in meds as we speak so some relief on the way. And or course they didn't call me, I had to call and get them to call the lab then call me back. At least I could get through. Some doctors I've had in the past just have the answering machine on all day as a standard practice and call back days later if at all.

UTIs aren't fun -- but at least it's not a bladder infection -- or the kidney stone. I'm curious what they give you -- please share.
Glad you're on the road to mending. Now don't slack off on that water, Girlfriend!
Thanks for keeping us posted.

My understanding is that UTI's could be a bladder infection or any other section of the urinary tract?? Anway, last time I had one the stone followed a day or two later so let's hope it's not that "big one" coming down. So it's Cipro 2x a day for 10 days, hate, hate having to take antibiotics as that causes tummy problems, but oh well. I'll deal with that later.

Cipro. Good stuff. You'll be your old self in a day!

When I was at Epcot I saw a jacuzzi with a huge flat screen built in that you could connect a computer or gamecube too. It even had a floating remote. That's what I need in my bathroom!

I'm so sorry you have got all this to deal with. I had a kidney infection in the beginning of the month and if it is anything like kidney stones - you have all my sympathy!! I ended up in the hospital with a temperature of 104 and being misdiagnosed with appendicitus! OY! I get lotsa UTIs and bladder infections as well but I have been they are just from *drops her voice to a whisper* ..sex.. so can sort of.. uh, work around them.. But anyway, I was going to say that when I have had one, and have been put on antibiotics, my belly usually feels better. I noticed crampgirl says hers get worse. I am confused... Maybe I just have one big infection... Ew... --Steph
