I think that maybe it can, if you have a treatable cause such as parasites, bacteria, celiac, food allergies, etc.. Even food intolerance identification can help as if you can pinpoint them and not eat them, you can get well. Remember IBS is a catchall term, everyone's cause could be different.

Thanks for responding. I am getting better at adapting -- but it's hardest when your friends want to go out... it's so hard to find safe things there now. I long for the day I can eat cheesy lasagne and garlic bread at olive garden again!

Even if I did find a reason for my IBS, I don't think I'd go back to eating like that. I will always no doubt have the tendency to swing over to being IBS. If I can control it by killing off some bacteria or something, I promise I will eat better.........lol.
