lol - A cat that does summersaults! That's too funny - I've never heard of such a thing! Animals are too funny, aren't they? I knew someone before that had taught his cat how to fetch. The cat would fetch this string he'd throw. The cat loved it! Too funny! My dog jumps on my bed and licks my face in the morning too! lol Somehow, when she was a puppy, I taught her "Good morning!" by accident. I would tell her that every morning - not to teach her, but just saying it, and she picked up on it. Now when I say it, she gets so excited. Her whole butt wags! lol

I'm sorry - I forgot about you not eating egg whites. For the fennel, I think Robyn posted recently about sprinkling some on steamed carrots and it was good. Yup, she did. I just checked, and here it is: web page Maybe you could sneak some in that way and they won't be as bitter? That's too bad you can't get the caraway. I've never tried to find it around here. I'll try finding it somewhere you can order online, and if I come up with anything, I'll let you know.

Good luck on your second round of hypno. And, if you ever come across that website with the percentages, let me know if you don't mind.

Thanks Angel! If you find it, that would be nice. But don't go out of your way or anything.

I did look for you for caraway. So far I found this: http://www.wellnaturally.ca/herbs/caraway.html I've been looking for places you can order in Cananda so hopefully the shipping won't be insane. Unfortunately, this place won't ship to you unless you spend $25. But, I haven't given up. I'll keep looking.

I'm curious to know what website that was to so I won't be going out of my way. The day I found that website I was just surfing the web for other IBS websites and just happened to find it. I actually won't be able to buy caraway online since I already buy Acacia and that costs a fortune. I also have to buy crystallized ginger , peppermint tea, beano, fennel, Dicetel, etc. It costs a fortune to have severe IBS since I have to buy so many things. The prices are insane! Thanks anyway.

That's too bad you have to buy all that stuff so you can't try the caraway. I was wondering if it would work. Oh well. Do you have to buy all that stuff online? That would probably make it more, because of shipping. And a lot of it is from US, isn't it? Maybe you should move to the US. Just kidding!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for your post on that website if you find it. Good luck!

And good luck in your quest trying to find relief. Try not to get too discouraged - have your kitty do summersaults for you to cheer you up if you do.

I buy Acacia fiber online. The rest of the stuff I need I get at Safeway and Superstore ( a Canadian store).
I hope I get relief soon! It's driving me crazy. My cat doesn't do summersaults that often. It's pretty rare. But when she does it cracks me up. She 4 years old and still looks like a kitten. lol

Hi Angel,

It can be expensive buying supplements. Have you had a proper diagnosis; i.e., from a doctor ruling out celiac disease or other problems.

I have celiac, a yeast infection through my gut (which had gone away, but came back after a recent dose of antibiotics for what turned out to be a kidney stone) and IBS - the D sort.

It really is worth proper investigation to eliminate things such as yeast and celiac which give very similar symptoms. Both are treated with diet, like IBS. It could also be food allergies. A supervised elimination diet helps discover the causes.

I see a nutritionist for ongoing support because before I was properly diagnosed my immune system hit rock bottom and I had glandular fever and then chronic fatigue syndrome.

However, to aid in recovery, a prebiotic such as acacia is great. If you really can't afford it, try psyllium - the stuff you get in packets from the supermarket, not the metamucil, etc.

Glutamine, which you can get from a health food store, is really beneficial in repairing your gut. If you take a probiotic, try to get an enteric coated one. This means that the acid in your stomach won't eat away the coating before the capsule reaches your lower bowel. Flax oil is excellent in assisting your gut to grow the short chain fatty acids which you need to property digest your food.

I'm sorry, you probably have had your doctor diagnose you as IBS, but if you haven't, it really is worth spending the money. For instance, the effects of celiac will eventually kill you and can give you such nasties as calcification of the brain, make it very difficult to conceive, etc.

Best regards,

Bev

Well right now I'm listening to it for a second time. I'll probably will have to listen to it for like 10 times before I get any results since my IBS is so bad. My life is not even close to being normal. Whatever I do I can't seem to get my IBS under control. I've had it since I was 17 and now I'm 21! Nothing helps me alot for some reason.
