For the past 30 years or so I have been Lactose Intolerant. This past year I'm discovering that I've have probably also been suffering from IBS (salads, etc., are a real problem). Feeling the need to get some dairy (and tired of popping milk digestant tablets) I tried some Soy milk recently as I see many recomendations for IBS and Lactose sufferers. Unfortunately this really sent me over the edge. What would be in the Soy that would affect me?

The same is true for me. Heather has a post somewhere on this board about this. I tried a brief search but there is so much on soy. What I believe she said was that there is some sugar or something that is hard for some people to digest. She suggested that some people can adapt to it by starting out with small amounts and taking Beano, which will help digest it. You could try this. You could also search for her response to find our more specifics. Sharon has a description of how to use the search function on this page if you are unfamiliar with it. I share your frustration!
