I have had ibs-d for 9yrs now and I take 2 lomotil every morning to help get me out of my house for the last 6yrs. I have followed a very strict way of eating, white rice, waffles, potatoes, French bread ect no meat hardly ever. I have recently tried adding more meat lately just to be a bit healthier. I have noticed when I eat more meat n less potatoes ect I have less gas. I am however scared to eat to much meat, fat for fear of it affecting my ibs in a bad way down the road. Can anyone explain why I might get more gas eating one way than the other?

Sure! It seems like you've started partially following a low fodmap diet. Foods high in FODMAPs, including waffles and french bread, can aggravate IBS symptoms. Meat, on the other hand, does not cause the same effects. The diet doesn't help everybody (about 70% see benefits) but seems like it may be inadvertently helping you!

So sticking with more meats and less breads should help with gas?
