Hello. I have been reading the boards and purchasing the tea and fiber for a year now.
A year ago I started having terrible pain whenever I ate anything. This usually came with nausea and *D*. The *D* got so bad that I couldn't leave my house on most days. I couldn't deal with it any longer and went to the doctor. After thousands (almost $10,000 AFTER insurance)of dollars in testing (I even ate radioactive eggs for one of the tests) and specialist visits I was diagnosed with IBS-D.
I found this site and started using the tea and fiber. This stopped the *D* most days and I was at least able to go to the store or the bank (with my Immodium D in my purse just in case). The pain continued. Fast forward a year - I have lost 40 lbs. and missed many important events. I couldn't take it any longer and went to a different doctor who ordered an ultrasound. I was FULL of gallstones! They scheduled my gallbladder removal surgery but I didn't make it that far. A week before the surgery I ended up at the ER in pain. I was admitted and spent a week in the hospital with a bad case of pancreatitis. That was two weeks ago and I am now able to eat and my life feels like it is getting back to normal!
I posted this just in case my symptoms resemble anyone else's. Please get an ultrasound! Pancreatitis is scary.
I am so relieved that they finally figured out what was wrong with me.

I'm VERY glad for you too, thanks for posting! I noticed you posted IBD;Did you mean IBS? Checking the gall bladder is part of all the testing they did on me at the VERY START for IBS;wondering why this wasn't found out at the beginning as part of your testing. What type of doctor ordered your testing, a GI? Sounds like you should get some compensation for the lack of a proper diagnosis from that doctor. What kind of insurance would let this happen, possibly costing them alot as well. Did they ever prescribe you something at the beginning? I was prescribed anticholinergics/anti-spasmotics. In Heather's book "The First Year, IBS," it mentions about people getting prescribed Questran for gall bladder removal, for IBS;So, now have you been prescribed Questran? I've talked to a few people in person who have told me they have never been prescribed Questran for absorbing the bile irritating the colon after gall bladder removal and say they NOW have IBS
