Hi, I have had IBS C since a child but diagnosed in my late 30s & no 'attacks' for over 20 years.....until 2 weeks ago. I got the Pain/cramps to stop after 7 days, however about every other day I awake at 3:30am with cramps. After peppermint, some fiber & hotpad, I get them to stop. The 3:30am wake up is my MO. Recommendations? I usually eat a bit every 3 hours. Should I eat before sleep & take fiber to give my system something to work on?

I take the acacia fiber before going to bed at a ratio of 1:1 of g per oz of liq. I'm built up to 3g every 3 avg. hours preferred (especially if start getting gassy) for ibs-d, spread throughout day=18g (3 Tbl. total), mainly before meals and snacks. I end up drinking 6C water for the whole day;Some of that used in the tea + drinking the alternative milk drinks;Totally I'm drinking 8C of liquid, which at least meets the bare minimum of the 64oz/day. IBS-C can sometimes need up to 5T/day I know and more liq/day too. I also take the peppermint caps, an extra one midway between dinner and bedtime..don't want that, or any food too close to laying down. I hope you do better at night.:) Hoping you've been taking probiotics built up slowly too all along. Twenty years is a good record with NO IBS-C.
