Hello,

I received GREAT news from my oncologist Wednesday, 1/14! I am STILL in remission for TWO years now from my Hodgkin's Lymphoma!

However, the 15 radiation treatments not only caused me a PERMANENT dry mouth, but it has affected my thyroid now too!!

I was wondering if Hypothyroidism can cause IBS symptoms?

I am starting a new medication for this tomorrow to correct the problem.

Thanks Heather and all!!

Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.

Hypothyroidism may have some GI effects that disappear once thyroid levels are back to normal from medication.

Thanks SO much for this article, Syl!

Dare I DREAM that my IBS will be FOREVER GONE with treatment for the hypothyroidism?

I started my medication for this today!
