Thanks everyone for all the info.

So, do you have to take the probiotic everyday, forever, or is it just a matter of getting your gut balanced with the right bacterias?

Smart cultures eat cultured/fermented with probios foods for good health ongoingly; If you have been diagnosed with a digestive disorder..yeah especially take probios..till you're out of this world..I definately would. Build up probios slooowly for sure, utilizing the acacia fiber with them until improvement. Then, I read going down to 10 billion is a maintenance dose.

Walgreens physical store pharmacy VSL#3 is ONLY 50.00 + 3.90 tax for 60 caps with 113 bill. potency (cfu)/cap. Compare that great price with an "unstudied" well known spectrum probio-Renew Life's Ultimate Flora for 57.59 on Walmart.com for 60 caps with ONLY 50 bill;Higher price at 1/2 the potency + with added shipping. There are other probios I compared VSL#3 to. I've tried Align for a few months with 1 strain studied and specified for IBS for $30 for 30 with no less gas help. So on VSL#3.

I have had GREAT results with VSL#3. But there are many other good ones on the market.

Yes, I will also be eager to see what Heather says on this topic!

--------------------
Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.

That's great..Try to stay with that one since it's been studied;Everyone, if haven't found already, try to get it cheaper at the above referenced source like Walgreen's physical store or somewhere similar for no more than $50 (the lowest price I've found) and without costly shipping if can;Besides, hot mailboxes kill probios. Don't anyone try to culture anything with ANY probiotic to stretch $, because you can't guarantee all the probios will culture right, like someone tried on Amazon.
